Dr. Whiting has dedicated the majority of his career to the field of
Laser Vision Correction and is known as a leader in the industry. He has
performed over 100,000 procedures to date, putting him among the most
experienced LASIK surgeons in the nation. He is continually recognized
for the excellence in care he shows to each of his patients.
In 2009, Dr. Whiting was inspired to build Whiting Clinic, a surgeon
owned and operated clinic where every vision improving procedure
is done to his exacting standards.

EXPERIENCE
Dr. Whiting began his ophthalmic surgery practice in Minneapolis
in 1989 and started performing refractive surgery procedures in 1994.
He has held staff appointments at the University of Minnesota Medical
School Department of Ophthalmology and Family Practice, and clinical
appointments at numerous hospitals in Minnesota. Dr. Whiting also served
two years as the Medical Director of the Allina Medical Group, Eye Services
Division. Dr. Whiting is nationally recognized for his expertise in procedures
for reducing and eliminating dependency on glasses and contact lenses.
EDUCATION
Dr. Whiting began ophthalmology research in 1978 while an undergraduate
at Stanford University. Following graduate work at the Stanford University
Medical Center Department of Ophthalmology, Dr. Whiting graduated with
Honors from medical school at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri.
He went on to complete his internship at the University of Minnesota’s
Hennepin County Medical Center and his ophthalmology residency at the
University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.
ASSOCIATIONS
Dr. Whiting is a member of the International Society of Refractive
Surgeons and a diplomat of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
He is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive
Surgeons and board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
PERSONAL
Dr. Whiting and his family have lived in the Minneapolis area for over
25 years. He actively supports his local community and volunteers his
surgical skills to medical mission projects. Dr. Whiting is passionate
about Minnesota, especially the summer lake activities. Dr. Whiting
is also an avid pianist and photographer.
