Quarry for a keen, enthusiastic individual who has had experience as a static
and mobile plant fitter at a large hard rock quarry.
Duties will include, preventative maintenance on static and mobile plant and
equipment as well as responding to emergency machine break downs. Other
duties include involvement with fabrication, installation and movements of
existing machines as well as overhaul and repair of machines and equipment.
You will also ensure machines and equipment on site are safe, working
efficiently and fit for purpose, and working together with the maintenance
team leaders/supervisor you will ensure the job runs smoothly.
Candidates must demonstrate a strong attitude to Health & Safety and ideally
should hold, or be working towards, their NVQ level 2 in Mechanical
Engineering. You must have experience in welding and fabrication and work
well within a team. As well as being a reliable and punctual individual, you
must be flexible to work overtime.
Quarry experience is essential and although not essential, it would be
beneficial to have a quarry passport and tickets for: 50T loading shovels,
40T articulated dumpers, and 30T loading shovels.
