2014 Field Employee Open Enrollment FAQs Q1: What are the Open Enrollment dates? A: Open enrollment begins on Tuesday, September 2 and will end at midnight on Sunday, September 21. Thereafter, any changes, enrollments or cancellations are permitted only when a qualified life event occurs. Qualified life events include a change in legal marital status, a change in the number of dependents, and a change in work schedule of the employee, spouse or dependent. Q2: Are all Field Employees eligible for benefits? A: Yes. All Field Employees are provided access to benefits. Q3: Will all Field Employees be eligible for the same benefits? A: Yes Q4: Who is the provider of the benefits? A: Aetna will be the new provider of all field employee benefits effective in November 2014. All Reliance benefits will terminate on Sunday, November 2, 2014. This year, Volt is introducing new health and welfare offerings from Aetna. Aetna, a well known insurance firm, was founded in 1853 in Hartford, CT. Learn more about Aetna at www.aetnastory.com Q5: What benefits will be offered to Field Employees? A: We heard your feedback! For this Open Enrollment, Field employees will have the opportunity to enroll in MedSure, a comprehensive major medical plan. In addition, to fill the gap when satisfying the deductible, there will be two fixed benefit indemnity plans and a hospital indemnity inpatient plan. Other benefit options include: dental, vision, life insurance and short term disability. Q6: When will the new benefits be effective? A: For employees enrolling during Open Enrollment, the MedSure coverage will be effective November 1, 2014 and all of the other plans will be effective November 3, 2014. For new hires, the MedSure Plan will be effective on the first of the month following their first full month of payroll deductions and all other plans will be effective on the Monday following their first payroll deduction. Q7: What should Field Employees do for Open Enrollment? A: All field employees should log onto the enrollment system or call the enrollment center to review the benefit options and elect or decline coverage. The enrollment system (www.powerofready.com/Volt) and enrollment center (1-‐855-‐226-‐0913) will be activated on September 2, 2014. We are encouraging all active Field Employees to review the Aetna options and either elect or waive coverage. Q8: When will payroll deductions begin for the new benefits? A: The MedSure (monthly coverage) will begin for pay period ending October 5, 2014. All other benefits are provided on a weekly basis and deductions for those will begin week ending October 26, 2014. Q9: If a Field Employee does not want to make any changes to their current coverage, what do they do? A: They cannot keep their current coverage. If the Field Employee wants coverage, they will need to enroll in Aetna plans. Q10: How do Field Employees enroll, make changes, or cancel coverage? A: Field Employees can: Enroll or make changes online or by calling the enrollment center. Q11: Does the branch need to distribute Benefit Brochures and information? A: No. Field Employees can access this information online. Q12: Can Field Employees contact Aetna directly if they have questions about the benefit options? A: Yes. Field Employees may reach the Customer Service Center at 1-‐855-‐226-‐0913 will be activated on September 2, 2014 from 8:00 am to 600 pm local time. Q13: Will the new plan options satisfy the individual mandate under Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act? A: The MedSure Plan will satisfy the individual mandate. The other medical pans do not satisfy the individual mandate. Q14: When will the Volt benefits comply with the employer mandate under Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act? A: The Volt Plan is a fiscal year plan and will not need to comply until November 1, 2015. Q15: Should I answer benefits questions? A: No. Please refer field employees to the Aetna Customer Service Center at 1-‐855-‐226-‐0913 will be activated on September 2, 2014 from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm local time.
