Beaverdam is open 7 days/week and is located in the central part of the county. The main entrance to Beaverdam Park is located at 8687 Roaring Springs Rd (Rt 616), off of Main St in Gloucester Court House. The second entrance to the park is located at 9537 Fary’s Mill Rd (Rt. 606). Get in spirit for the holiday season at Beaverdam Park. Enjoy a short hike along a naturally decorated trail to find SANTA. Have a magical time and stay for some cocoa and cookies. SPRING 2015 will see the Gloucester County Visitors Center relocate from the 1896 Roane Building to the renovated 1956 Annex Building. Plans for the new Visitors Center include ADA handicap access, expanded display and exhibit Over the summer, Whitley’s employees documented over 2,000 customers checked out the satellite County Tourist Information displays in their retail store. The holiday season is in full swing with festive new holiday lamp post banners courtesy of a partnership between the County, the Cook Foundation and Main Street Preservation Trust. Attractive garlands and LED lights by the Walter Reed and Gloucester Garden Clubs. This year the Holiday Parade will be Saturday December 6th at 2:00 pm. The Main Street Business Open House, Tree Lighting, and kids visiting Santa will happen Sunday December 7th. Gloucester Arts on Main Street will be assisting kids with making their personalized cards and ornaments. The Roane building will get some much needed interior restoration and will return to its Clerk’s Office look with addition exhibits. Restoration of the 1824 Debtors Prison will continue along with starting restoration of the 1870 Old Jail. With this summer’s relocation of County departmental offices, the buildings of the historic Court Circle will have dedicated use for Gloucester County residents, visitors and tourists. Much more to come… 20 plus Gloucester County Visitors Center docents would like to extend to the community an invitation to join us as volunteers. We run two 3 hour shifts 10:00am to 4:00pm daily and 1:00 to 4:00pm on Sundays.
