The Fremont County Solid Waste Disposal District in Wyoming is now accepting
applications for an Assistant Superintendent of Operations position at the
District Office in Lander, WY. Fremont County, Wyoming is located along the
Wind River Mountain Range, yet also includes other mountain ranges within the
county limits. This wonderful area of Wyoming offers endless outdoor activities
from hunting and fishing, to rock climbing, hiking, and biking.
The Fremont County Solid Waste Disposal District provides solid waste disposal
throughout the 9,300 square miles of Fremont County through operation of four
landfills, 11 low-hazard low-volume transfer stations, one transfer station, two
public drop-off centers/recycling processing stations, and three recycling centers.
The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for managing the daily operations of
all sites and ensuring they are being operated in compliance with operating permits,
state and federal laws, and local rules and regulations. Staff management
responsibilities include hiring and training staff, overseeing safety programs and
procedures, scheduling staff, and evaluating staff performance.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction
management, administration, or related field, and 4-8 years’ experience in solid
waste management, or related field, including supervisory experience. Experience
with heavy equipment operation and maintenance, and human resources is
preferred.
The salary range for this position is $50,000 to $70,000. A full job description and
