There’s plenty for everyone with lambs and calves dominating the morning and the indoor exhibits always an eye opener in the afternoon ……… Lamb & Calf Day Tuesday 4 November 2014 General Information: Please be at school by 9.00am with your animal Wear normal school uniform. Bring water for your animal and yourself. Parking – access by the sandpit and park around the school field. Lamb & Calf judging approx 9.15 - 12noon. Approx 12 - 12.30 Grand Parade with all children & their animals & ribbons on display. Re-presentation of major awards. Approx 12.30pm indoor exhibits open to view. (After judging) Please leave your exhibits at school until Wednesday so everyone can admire them. • Approx 12.40 - 1.30pm lunch break – BBQ sausages/drinks/chocolates for sale. • Normal school programme for children without animals. Your teachers will take you out to view the animals. Teachers will also take their class to view indoor exhibits • With parent permission children with animals may go home after the Grand Parade. • • • • • • • IF IT’S DEEMED TO WET TOO PROCEED AND WE NEED TO POSTPONE… • A message will be text. Miss Leary leaves us at the end of the year to move to Australia, where she’ll meet up with family and friends and continue her teaching career. Miss Leary’s full time (fixed term) position will be taken by Mrs Brenda Stewart next year, creating a vacancy for a “Room 1a” teacher at mid year, if roll numbers allow for it. CROSS COUNTRY EVENTS LAST WEEK We were so proud of all our students last week at the school event and then those who went on to the interschool event on Friday also performed right up to expectation. The School Cup is awarded to the school with the best result from their first three runners home: Our first three runners were: George Lambert Hayden Skou Zane Brooks 4th 7th 12th This was enough to give us a narrow victory from 2nd placed Huntley School. We’ve got all other jerseys to return but the number 21 is missing. YEAR 5 CAMP TO RAUKAWA FALLS Mr Jeffrey, a group of outstanding parents and an even more outstanding group of students are off on the Year 5 camp tomorrow. They’ll be at Raukawa Falls, 30 minutes north of Wanganui. We wish them the usual great experiences and fun times at this impressive facility. FAMILY SOFTBALL THIS FRIDAY Our grounds were just too water logged at the end of last week, so hopefully this Friday we will get started. v 6 Teams v Meet 5.30pm sharp for briefing and the draw, at the cricket nets. v Team entries are closed but some teams are looking for an adult or two or a senior student.
