PARISH NEWS
NOVEMBER, MONTH OF
THE SOULS IN PURGATORY
KING OF GLORY – O Lord, Jesus
Christ, King of glory, through the
intercession of Mary and all the
saints, free the souls of the faithful
departed from the punishments of
Purgatory. And you, St. Michael,
standard-bearer of the heavenly
army, guide them to the holy light promised by the
Lord to Abraham and to his descendants. I offer
You, O Lord, sacrifices and prayers of praise.
Accept them for these souls and admit them to
eternal light and joy. Amen.

SEMINARY APPEAL AND
PRESENTATION
MASS FOR THE DECEASED – On Sunday,
November 23, 2014 at the 11:30 AM Mass we will
remember in a special way all of our parishioners
who have died within the past year. (November 1,
2013 to November 1, 2014). The names of our
deceased parishioners will be listed in the bulletin
on that Sunday. Eternal rest grant unto them O
Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.
Next weekend, Mr. Louis Monica, a
seminarian at Saint Charles Seminary, studying
for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, will make
the annual Seminary Appeal at all the Masses. I
believe all have received information at home
concerning this Appeal. You may make your
contribution directly to the Seminary by using
the mailing materials provided, or you may drop
the Appeal envelope in the basket and we will
forward it to the Seminary Appeal Office.
HOLY ROSARY REGIONAL
CATHOLIC SCHOOL – would
like to invite retired, senior-citizen,
and interested parishioners to come
to the school on Thursdays from
10:00 to 11:15 to read one-on-one
with Holy Rosary second graders. Studies show
that students benefit greatly when they have the
chance to both read to and be read to on a one-onone basis.
Volunteers do need to have a Pennsylvania
Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse History
Clearance.
Holy Rosary staff will assist
volunteers with e clearance process. Please
contact Lisa Moran at 610-8250160
or
at
[email protected]
if
you
are
interested.
ATTENTION
MILITARY
FAMILIES – Do you have a
loved one currently serving in the
military? Would they welcome
cards and letters from local students? If your
answer is “Yes”, please provide the name of your
loved one, along with his/her military address
(please be very specific with capital letters, etc.) to
Mrs. Luthy at Holy Rosary Regional Catholic
School. Students will create cards and write
letters to your loves ones. We would like to get
this project underway at once, especially with
Veterans Day and the Holidays right around the
corner. Information may be sent via e-mail to:
[email protected].
The occasion of the Seminary Appeal and
the seminarian's visit is also an opportunity for
us to be encouraged by the generous young men
who are studying for the Priesthood. It is
edifying that, especially in this age of ours, these
young, talented men have chosen to give the
many gifts they have received to Our Lord for
the extension of His work on earth.

LADY

MOUNT
CARMEL
