1 Meeting of the Core Facility st
1st Meeting of the Core Facility
We are honoured that this meeting is included in the
events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the
foundation of the Medical Faculty Mannheim.
About the Core Facility
The core facility LIMA was founded in 2011 with the
goal of giving researchers and clinicians access to a
powerful and innovative bio-imaging tool for the
study of biological processes in action. The core
facility LIMA provides dynamic imaging equipment
i.e. state of the art laser scanning microscopes along
with technical expertise and is currently collaborating
on studies that include angiogenesis, tumour
metastasis, cardiovascular physiology, cellular
signalling, nociception of acute and chronic pain as
well as neuronal polarity.
Venue
The meeting will be held at the auditorium of the
Medical Faculty Mannheim, Hörsaal H02, Alte
Brauerei, Röntgenstr. 7, 68169 Mannheim on the 7th
of November 2014, starting at 9 o’clock with the
welcoming address of the Dean.
7. November 2014
The campus is easily accessible by public transport.

Neurobiology
Bio-imaging tools hold enormous potential for a wide
variety of diagnostics and therapeutic applications
and the core facility is very proud to have established
a fruitful interaction with clinicians of the Medical
Faculty. Since 2014 the core facility is a member of the DGF
research infrastructure portal “RIsources”, which
gives researchers in Germany the possibility to use
the service.

The mission of the core facility is to train and teach
researchers and clinicians interested in studying
biological processes in living cells or organisms. In
addition the core facility also develops and refines
new methods and applications, which are made
available to the members of the CBTM and
researchers of the Medical Faculty Mannheim.
