ABDUL-MUMIN C/O UBAIDA KADIRI P.O. BOX 89 TAMALE. Dear Sir/Madam, OFFER OF CONDITIONAL ADMISSION –2014/2015 ACADEMIC YEAR 1. This is to inform you that the Academic Board has offered you conditional admission to Accra Polytechnic to pursue a three year full-time course of study leading to the award of HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ACCOUNTANCY). This Conditional Admission is based on the fact that you do not have the required credit(s) in one or two of your core subject areas. In view of this: i. You are required to undertake a 3-month intensive Access Course under the supervision of NABPTEX and write an examination at the end of the 3-months; ii. You will pursue the HND Programme and take the Access Course as an extra load; iii. You are required to pass the Access Course or else be withdrawn from the HND Programme; iv. In addition to the full time HND fees, you are required to pay Access Course tuition fee of GH¢ 100.00 per subject. The Access Course Examinations fees from NABPTEX will be communicated in due course; and v. The classes for the Special Access Course will commence on Monday, November03, 2014. 2. Your reference number is 22341. 3. The Polytechnic itself does not have financial assistance for students. There is however, a student’s Loan Scheme under which registered Ghanaian students, who are not on paid study leave, may borrow money directly from the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT). 4. Admission is granted for a specific year and a successful candidate who fails to enroll in the very year the offer is made or withdraws from the programme unceremoniously forfeits his/her admission. 5. You are cautioned that this admission offer becomes invalid if it is discovered subsequently that you do not in actual fact possess the qualifications by virtue of which you were offered admission on the programmes of study. 6. All students are on probation for the duration of their programmes and may be dismissed at any time for misbehaviour, poor academic performance or any other unsatisfactory conduct. 7. You will be required to pay an amount of GH¢ 1,181 being fees applicable to fresh students. All fees shall be paid at Bank of Africa (any branch) - Account number: 001-111257. 8. Cash will not be accepted. Fees paid to the Polytechnic are not refundable. Polytechnic fees must be paid within two weeks of re-opening 9. The Polytechnic requires that you be medically fit by the Medical Officer in charge of the Polytechnic Clinic. In this regard, you will be medically examined at the Polytechnic Clinic soon after the commencement of the first semester. You will be required to bring with you a checst X-ray for this examination. 10. The Polytechnic re-opens for the academic year on Monday September 15, 2014 and lectures commence on Monday,October 20, 2014. (You are expected to report on Monday, September 15, 2014 to go through Registration formalities at your Department). 11. An orientation programme and other activities have been planned to acquaint freshmen with life on campus before the commencement of the academic work. This exercise will be held from Monday, September 29, 2014 to Friday, October 17, 2014 . 12. Note that accommodation is not in any way linked to the offer of admission. The fees include SRC dues and Departmental Association dues, and exclude Hostel fees. Students shall be responsible for buying their textbooks, stationery and certain tools related to their programmes 13. Official Identity Cards will be issued to students who have paid their fees 14. Students are forewarned that the Polytechnic statutes will be in force and it will be their own responsibility to familiarize themselves with all the regulations of the institutions.
