GAAB Bipolar Forceps EndoWorld for use in neuroendoscopy ®
EndoWorld® NEURO 17 03/2012-E GAAB Bipolar Forceps for use in neuroendoscopy GAAB Bipolar Forceps for use in Neuroendoscopy KARL STORZ has an extensive portfolio of bipolar instruments on offer to meet today’s requirements on bipolar coagulation systems. The range has now been extended with a further pair of bipolar TAKE-APART® forceps. These bipolar forceps have been specially developed for use in neuroendoscopy and can be introduced through the working channel of the GAAB neuroendoscope. Bipolar coagulation is generally preferred in neurosurgery because the circuit is closed, which avoids neighboring structures’ being damaged accidentally. In contrast to a bipolar electrode, bipolar forceps can be used to grasp a tissue bridge, hold it in place and thereby coagulate it particularly effectively while applying additional pressure to the hemorrhaging. This contributes just as importantly to the hemostasis as the coagulation itself. In addition, the tissue filaments can be dissected without hemorrhaging; the application of cutting diathermy is also possible. These forceps are thus an important complement to the bipolar coagulation electrode and monopolar diathermy. The TAKE-APART® bipolar forceps can be completely dismantled and are thus very easy to clean. The handle and the sheath are reusable and autoclavable. The inserts for these forceps are disposable products and are supplied in packs of 5. 2 3 Features: • For use through the working channel of the GAAB neuroendoscope [(Art. no. 28096 AGA (telescope) and 28162 BS (sheath)] • For all intraventricular interventions: Ventriculostomy, colloid and arachnoid cysts and tumor biopsies • Dimensions: Sheath dia.: 2.4 mm x 26 cm Jaws dia.: 1 mm, flat • Pistol handle for optimal endoscopic ergonomics • Reusable, autoclavable forceps with disposable inserts for a cost-effective solution • Can be used with all high-frequency devices via the corresponding bipolar cable from KARL STORZ 28162 BDL TAKE-APART® Bipolar Grasping Forceps, size 2.4 mm, length 26 cm, with flat jaws, including: Bipolar Ring Handle Outer Sheath Working Insert, package of 5, disposable KARL STORZ GmbH & Co.
