Children’s Services Council: Community Connections (60 min.)
Hosts: Sean Boyle & Ashley Mock
Through a partnership with local radio station WIRA 1400AM, the Children’s
Services Council hosts a weekly radio show. From the Treasure Coast Food Bank,
Krista Garofalo, Chief Programs & Communications Officer, and Theresa Taylor,
Child Nutrition Coordinator, talk about the programs that help feed those in need
and how the community can join the fight against hunger.

This month on Notebook, our guests will be sharing about various community
programs related to the upcoming holiday season. In the first segment, Stacy
Malinowski, Program Director at Mustard Seed Ministries and Chef Calvin Lewis,
Culinary Arts Instructor at St. Lucie West Centennial discuss the Community
Thanksgiving Feast and how this event has evolved throughout the years. Missy
Kelly, a 4th grade teacher at Fairlawn Elementary, shares how the Student Council
helps support these programs during the holidays with food drives and other
outreach opportunities. In the second segment, Shelia Randazzo, from the St.
Lucie County Sheriff's Office, talks about their Christmas Families program and
how the community can support families in need. Rhonda Blakey, Director of
Corporate Partnerships for the Treasure Coast Food Bank, discusses the many
programs that help meet the need for food in our community, such as the
Backpack program for students, their mobile pantry, and even a Pet pantry.

Program. Bridgette Hargadine, Principal of Port St. Lucie High School, talks about
their IB Program, as well. Professor Kevin Adkins discusses the rigorous courses
that students can experience in Ft. Pierce Central High Schools’ Embry-Riddle
Engineering & Aerospace Academy. Brandon Perdue, Agri-Science Instructor, and

rehabilitation could be jeopardized due to lack of funds. Chris Robertson,
Development Associate for CASTLE, discusses their child abuse prevention

need of assistance.
