COMMANDERS CORNER
Greetings Legion Members,
The holidays are just around the corner and the month of
November will be a busy one for the post.
The Veterans Day Memorial Service will be on November 11th at the
Fox Lake train station. We need volunteers for the Rifle Squad.
If you would like to participate please be at the train station by 10:45 am.
As always we also need volunteers for Bingo on Sundays.
If you have not renewed your membership for 2015 please do so as
soon as possible. We are currently at 70% and we need 115 members to get 100%.
The next Membership meeting will be on November 26th at 7:15 pm. Hope to see you there.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving! Please keep your thoughts and prayers to all the fellow Veterans who
are still out there defending our way of life.

AUXILIARY NEWS
Veteran’s Day services will be held at the Fox Lake train station on Nov 11 th at 11:00 AM – Rain or
shine!! Please come out and join us for this service. Our Post 703 members truly appreciate all of
your support on this day and every day throughout the year.
SAL News
I can't believe summers over and the holidays are around the corner. As you read this, the Halloween
parties are over, thanks to all who contributed time and donations for the kids. I hope we can continue
these great events long into the future. Remember, "When you need it done - call a Son". Be sure
and check out the newly remodeled Post 703 float, thanks to all for making this rig safe for the next
parade run. That should be the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Prior to that we invite all who can attend
to the Veterans Day service on the 11th. Please be sure and support our Junior Auxiliary members by
attending the spaghetti dinner this month. Ski will be in the kitchen, anyone else like to help out?
Congratulations to our own Jeff Haddick on his appointment to 10th District, in addition to being our
"Family" representative to Post 703. Finally, Russ and crew have another raffle in the works to add to
the Super bowl excitement. Watch for it coming soon! See you around the post.

The owner of a drug store walks in to
find a guy leaning heavily against a wall.
The owner asks the clerk, "What's with
that guy over there by the wall?" The
clerk says, "Well, he came in here this
morning to get something for his cough.
I couldn't find the cough syrup, so I gave
him an entire bottle of laxative." The
owner says, "You idiot! You can't treat a
cough with laxatives!" The clerk says,
"Oh yeah? Look at him, he's afraid to
cough!"
