Program Descriptions
Non-Registered Programs for Parents, Caregivers, and their Children
Babies in Playland – birth up to 18 months
Story Time – 2 to 6 years
Parents/caregivers and babies participate together in early learning activities that help to stimulate
cognitive, physical and social development. Information on early childhood development will be
available.
The development of language is the key to a child’s sense of independence and positive self-esteem.
This development is enhanced and supported by focusing on pre-reading skills with the use of storytelling,
Singable Stories for Babies – birth up to 18 months
Exploring Science – 3 to 6 years
This program focuses on a variety of story-telling methods, story songs, story-telling with props, and
reading from a book. Parents/caregivers are encouraged to try these different methods at home.
Children enjoy exploring through discovery and manipulation of a variety of materials. In this program,
children explore basic cause and effect, practice problem solving skills and experience self-discovery.
Infant Action – 3 months up to 12 months
Family Time – birth to 6 years
This program focuses on developing your infant’s large motor skill. A variety of equipment, action songs
and rhymes are used to promote this development.
Family Time is for parents/caregivers and their children to meet others and play interactively in an early
learning environment. The program includes; arts and crafts, music, pre-reading, and math concepts.
Creative Movement – birth to 6 years
Tot Stop – 18 months up to 36 months
This program focuses on toddler development through play. Parents/caregivers engage in activities with
their children including, arts and crafts, sensory activities, songs and rhymes.
The program offers a variety of activities such as finger plays, songs, musical games and movement.
fosters development in listening skills, language development and both large and fine motor skills.
Me and Dad – birth to 6 years (Dads only program)
Singable Stories for Toddlers – 18 months up to 36 months
This program focuses on a variety of story-telling methods, story songs, story-telling with props, and
reading from a book. Parents/caregivers are encouraged to try these different methods at home.
This program is for dads, uncles and grandpas to play interactively with their children. The program
arts and crafts, music and movement and focuses on science and discovery.
Messy Play – 18 months to 6 years
Open Door – birth to 6 years
This program focuses on exploring our five senses through a variety of multi-sensorial activities. A variety
of sensory experiences stimulate children and gives them new information about the world.
Come and explore our centre and the many services and resources available to you. Families are
welcome to come and play with their children when regular programs are not being offered.

Fun With Literacy focuses on learning language with your child by building on the sounds of letters, while Fun With Numbers enhances your child’s math skills.

This workshop focuses on sharing moments of love, learning and laughter with your baby while putting together a scrapbook of baby’s first year.
Each week’s activities will be followed by a discussion session and singing songs, focused on the topic of the day.
