Veterans Day is November 11. We will
celebrate our veterans on the 10th with
patriotic stories shared by Celtic Volunteers,
along with a short celebration on the 11th to
honor our veterans in the facility.
Please feel free to join us.
See calendar for details.
Chili cook-off competition on October 17 was a hit! We all had fun sampling everyone's chili
recipes. Everyone had their favorite, but by a vote, Rob Davis and Yolanda Nash tied for
the best chili. Rob’s chili had a kick to it and Yolanda’s was homemade goodness.
Congratulations, you two, and thank you to everyone who participated! Find the recipes in
this newsletter.

Scott in nursing states that “If you mixed Lori’s chili with Carol’s, it’s everything you
could hope for and more.”
 Resident Larry suggested “Mixing Rob’s with Yolanda’s is the way to go”
 Ashley in nursing is just excited that “chili weather upon us.”
 Lisa in housekeeping -”Lunch was great!”
Receive the joy of giving this holiday
season by being a Secret Santa to one of our residents.
We want all of our residents to receive a gift from Santa
when he comes into town this year. The list will be available
at the front desk beginning Friday, November 21st.
Please have your gifts in by December 10th!
Out of fairness, we would like to ensure that everyone
receives only one gift. If you have more gifts for a resident,
we ask that you please give those gifts to them privately. We
would like to keep the gift amount around $15. Thank you
for making the season special.
Clowns from the Knights of
Columbus in St. Charles
visited us over the weekend
of the 11th. “The clowns
were an unexpected surprise. They brought silk
roses, smiles and very bad
jokes that made us laugh.”
-Deborah Ludden
