Social Ministry Update
ANGEL TREE AND FOOD FOR THE HOLIDAYS
The Social Ministry Committee of the Parish is preparing for the Holidays. Through the Angel Tree, we are able to provide clothes
and toys for needy children in our community. We get the names of needy families from the Louisa County Resource Council. Each
child has an angel card on the tree with the child's wish list for presents from Santa and the parents' list of suggested gifts . In addition,
we also sponsor senior parishioners and others that are in our local Louisa County nursing facilities who do not have families.
The Angel Tree will be ready for you to select an angel card the weekend after Thanksgiving (11/29/14 & 11/30/14). Please make
sure that if you sponsor a child or a senior to please complete the sponsor information at the bottom of the card then drop it in the
assigned basket.
If you know of a family in our Parish in need of this kind of assistance, please contact Elaine Marstall (540)872-4489 at IC and Rudy
Regalado (434) 589-7922 at SJ.
Additionally, the children's families are given a Food Lion gift card to buy food for the Holidays of their choosing. Food for the Poor
envelopes will be stapled to the bulletin for donations to pay for these cards in November and in December.
Your generous support of this program will make a big difference for many children and their families during this Holy Season.
St. Jude Women’s Guild
Due to the fire in Sullivan Hall, this year's Christmas Bazaar has been cancelled. However, the St. Jude's
Women's Guild will have a booth at Louisa's Christmas
Festival on Saturday December 6th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Guild will be selling hand made craft items and proceeds will benefit the Capital Improvements Fund. We
thank you in advance for your support.
On behalf of Blue Star Mothers of Fredericksburg and Wreaths
Across America, THANK YOU!
Over 175 wreaths were donated to be laid at Arlington and Quantico
National Cemeteries this year and $1400 raised for care packages to
be sent to our deployed service members!
Thank you!
