Mazeltov to Linda and Simon Lewis on their son James graduating from the Royal College of Surgeons this week. MITZVAH DAY—NOVEMBER 16th We will be in the shul from 10am-12 noon for a grand pack up; packing shoe boxes of presents for Gift and Barnados. Please tell everyone to save their shoe boxes and bring them along together with any wrapping paper and any small items they have at home - new or nearly new that would be nice as presents. This could be toiletries; games; books; toys or - well anything really. If you have something to donate but can’t come on the 16th - please drop your donations off at the shul office or Miriam Gitlin. Also from 10-12 we will be knitting squares and sewing them together for blankets to give to give away. Bring your wool and knitting needles with. We are also looking for volunteers to spend the morning at St Lukes Hospice, as we have done over the past 3 years, assisting them with their administration—Contact Miriam Gitlin . We need people to bring new and nearly new books toys stationary cosmetics toiletries to the Shul hall between 10 -12 and stay and help pack gift boxes We are encouraging all those that can to go to the Ajex parade in the afternoon. Calling all knitters and sewers (including beginners). Please join us from 10-12 when we will be knitting squares (8 cm x 8 cm or 23 cm x 23 cm) and sewing them into adult and baby blankets for World Jewish Relief. Knitting needles and wool will be provided but please bring any spare wool to donate and size 4 or 5 knitting needles if you have available. AJEX REMEMBERANCE PARADE - SUNDAY 16TH NOVEMBER 2014 Sunday 16th Novemebr sees the annual AJEX Remebrance Parade in Whitehall where we honour fallen Jewish service men and women. The parade takes placew at 2.00 pm from Horseguards Parade to the Cenotaph where a memorial service is held , led by the Chief Rabbi and attended by serving members of the Armed Forces.This year the parade will be inspected by the Admiral of the Fleet Michael Cecil Boyce, Baron Boyce KG, GCB, OBE, DL. AVOS UBONIM takes place at 6pm Motzei Shabbos each week in the Beis Hamedrash. A chance for fathers and sons to spend time learning together, with a weekly prize sedra quiz given by Rabbi Lewis, plus nosh and occasional Melaveh Malkas! Dads and sons of all ages welcome. Counts for CCRP points for school applications. Apart from the National remembrance parade which took place last Sunday 9th November it is the only parade for which Whitehall is closed.
