AIMS
To understand and apply the CORA method for limb deformities and to cover all diagnostic aspects of front limb malalignment and correction of its most common deformities.

SESSION I: Center of Rotation of Angulation (CORA)
Methodology. Review concepts of CORA methodology
• Physeal and Long Bone Development
• Pathobiology of ALDs
• Introduction the CORA Methodology
• CORA Method of Planning Corrective Osteotomies
• Graphical Method of Deformity Plane Determination
SESSION II: Rules of Osteotomies. Describe the three
rules of osteotomies based on Paley’s methodology
using circular ring fixators
• Concepts of Osteotomies and Paley’s Three Rules
• CESF Introduction and Concepts
• CESF Nomenclature and Systems
• CORA Plane of Deformity as it Relates
to CESF Application
SESSION III: Concepts of osteotomies related to
radius and ulna. Apply concepts of osteotomies to
deformities of the radius and ulna
• Distraction Osteogenesis for ALDs
(concepts of latency, rate and rhythm
• Clinical Application of CESF for ALDs
• Radiographic Evaluation of the Radius and Ulna
• Normal Radial and Ulnar Axes, Join Orientation Lines,
and Joint Reference Angles
SESSION IV: Apply concepts of osteotomies by
utilizing planning sessions on drawings of realistic
models of radial and ulnar angular deformities
• Executing a Closing Wedge Osteotomy
SESSION V
• Practical Exercises with Circular External Skeletal Fixators
(CESF)
• Apply techniques learned during the Workbook Session
to realistic models in a practical laboratory setting that
will be used in conjunction with models of radial and
ulnar angular deformities
SESSION VI
• Correction of Torsion Along with Angulation
• Multiapical Radial/Ulnar Deformities
• Use of a special jig for limb alignment, DDR
SESSION VII:
Practical Exercises on Angular Limb Deformities
• Apply concepts of corrections on bone models with
realistic angular deformities
SESSION VIII:
Practical Exercises on Angular Limb Deformities
• Apply concepts of corrections on cadaver limb
• Radial and ulnar osteotomy and plate fixation
