Here we go again! This is going to be the third edition of our TaekwonDo ITF Open; we have been growing non-stop for the past three years:
the number of competitors has increased and the level has improved
substantially. In the next pictures you will find the best attributes of our
tournament:

Aranjuez
The history of Aranjuez began in the 16th century under the kingdom of Felipe II of Spain. The city
gained importance with the monarchy of the Bourbons, and became known as The Royal Site. It is an
ideal place for tourism. Aranjuez was declared a World Heritage Cultural Landscape in 2001 by the
UNESCO. Just 47 Km (29 miles) from Madrid, Aranjuez is characterized as the first city in Spain
connected by railroad. Today you can still recreate this trip on the Strawberry Train (a.k.a. “Tren de la
Fresa”), a steam train that follows the Madrid - Aranjuez rail route. The gastronomy of the city is known
for the use of its garden products.
In Aranjuez You can visit the Royal Palace, the Labrador´s House, Marine House, its wonderful
gardens, such as Prince, the Parterre, or Elizabeth II, beside others several historical buildings.
Additionally, in Aranjuez you can find plenty of hotels and restaurants, and for those who like to
experience the nightlife, Aranjuez is well known for the casino and nightclubs.

The Tournament

Schedule:
Inscription’s & Weigh in:
Friday 21st November 2014, from 18 to 23 (Hotel to be confirmed: NH or Don Manuel).
Saturday 22nd November 2014, from 08 a 08:30 (Hotel to be confirmed: NH or Don Manuel).



In order to carry out inscriptions and weight in a fluent manner, we would appreciate if you
could get an appointment with the organizing committee in order to reduce waiting time.
Children will not be weighted in; however children could be weight randomly during the
tournament.
Competitors who do not weight it according to their inscription will be disqualified.
Tournament:
Saturday November 22nd, 2014. From 9 to 21. (Las Olivas Sport Centre)

09:00 Black Belts (Veterans, Senior & Junior)
13:00 Colour Belts (Veterans, Senior & Junior)

The schedule is just an approximation. There could be delays but we will never start before of
the forecasted time. We recommend competitor to be in the stadium at least half hour before
starting.
Tournament Rules:
ITF adapted. In the black belt category, ITF Rules (Chang Ung line) will be applied.

Federation License.
Inscription Sheet.
Parent authorisation for competitors < 18 years old.
Responsibility commitment sheet signed by Club Master/Representative.
ID & grade carnet could be required.

Individual Sparring & Pattern: All categories.
Individual Special Techniques: Black belts junior & senior.
Individual Power Techniques: Black belts senior & veterans.
Inscription Fee:

Junior, Senior & Veterans: 40€
Children: 30€
Official claims: should be formalized by the official coach: 100€. Every team will have to collaborate
with 1 umpire per every 10 competitors in order to guarantee the impartiality of the event. In case this
requirement is not fulfilled, the team will lose the right to claim, in any official or non-official way.

The inscription sheet will have to be sent to [email protected]. The deadline will be November 8th
2014 at midnight.
Clothing & Equipment:

ITF Dobok & belt.
Sparring:
o Gloves and boots made of an authorized material.
o Groin protector (MANDATORY FOR ALL MALE PARTICIPANTS),
o Chest inner protector (MANDATORY FOR ALL FEMALE PARTICIPANTS)
o Mouth guard (MANDATORY FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS).
o Authorized helmet (MANDATORY FOR CHILDREN AND JUNIOR PARTICIPANTS).
The use of closed gloves or gloves that may leave fingers in sight will not be allowed. Any kind
of bandage is also forbidden under gloves or boots.
Umpires:
Blue navy trousers, white T-Shirt, blue tie and white sneakers.
Coach:
Track-suit & sneakers.
Coaches will not be allowed to stay wearing Dobok, slippers or shorts.

* Children categories will be divided according to age, grade, height and weight of the competitors. We are going to pay
special attention in this process in order to take care of the children as much as we can, in case of doubt the team responsible
will be contacted.
**The Junior subcategories (14-15 & 16-17 years old), will be applied only for sparring following ITF rules.
Competitors (1º Gup) will be able to take part in black belt division for sparring, special and power
techniques but not for patterns. This condition must be specifically requested during the inscription
process (email to [email protected]) in other case competitor will form part of the colour belt
division.
The organizing committee keeps the right to put some categories together
in case of necessity; however, these categories with very few competitors
a pooling system and not eliminatory will be applied.
