Following the success of the previous two congresses on
Controversies in Rheumatology and Autoimmunity (CORA) it is our
great pleasure to welcome you to Sorrento, Italy, for the third CORA
Congress.
Our first Congress, CORA 2011, held in Florence was a great success
with more than 500 participants where a fresh and intuitive congress
structure was launched that included debate sessions on burning and
controversial issues as well as plenary lectures, company-sponsored
blocks and other scientific sessions. The second, CORA 2013, held in
Budapest attracted more than 600 professionals and featured even
more scientific debates.
Today, new autoimmune syndromes are being discovered and
described rapidly by leading scientists and these findings raise further
questions related to the clinical diagnosis, management, as well as the
pathogenesis of rheumatic and autoimmune disorders.
The scientific program of CORA 2015 will cover many of these issues.
We will conduct debates on the importance of genetic vs. epigenetic
factors, on the involvement of bone destruction vs. formation in
the pathogenesis of arthritides, on targeted therapy, including early
treatment initiation, switching and stopping. We will discuss the
highly controversial issues of biologics and biosimilars, APS testing,
Sjogren’s syndrome, lupus, psoriatic arthritis and many other topics.
CORA 2015 promises a colorful and innovative program, and we look
forward to your contribution by submitting an abstract and joining
the discussions on these issues.
This time we are moving back to Italy, to the lovely town of Sorrento,
standing on a terrace rising steeply above the sea on one of the most
spectacular points of the Campanian coast. We look forward to
welcoming you at this inspiring medical event.
Sincerely,
Prof. Andrea Doria
