To confirm that you will be competing in this event, you must complete the online entry system and make th payment by Friday 28 November 2014 - strictly. The website address for the entry system is www.britishjudo.org.uk/enteronline and this system will open on th Monday 10 November 2014. If, for any reason you are unable to complete your application online, you must contact James Sills on 01509 631695 or [email protected] prior to the closing date. As proof of British nationality eligibility MUST be provided to enter this event you can upload a copy of your British Passport or British Birth Certificate during the online entry process, alternatively it can be sent via fax to 0871 266 4749, or scanned and emailed to [email protected]. Please note: if you have already provided the BJA with proof of your eligibility for the 2009 – 2013 British Championships or the 2010 – 2013 British Trials/Closed, the online system can check this and there will be no requirement for you to resend or upload again. Please note: Gold and Silver medallists from the December 2014 Junior British Championships held on th Saturday 13 December 2014 will also be invited to enter the 2014 Senior British Championships. If you wish to apply for a wildcard please contact [email protected]. Competition Format The method of elimination for this event will be pools throughout (pools to pools). The first two players in each pool will qualify for the next round of pools. Depending on entry numbers this format maybe amended. Contest times will be 4 minutes for Women and 5 minutes for Men. IJF Rules will be in operation. With the following British Concessions: • No 30 second rule • No supplier rule on judogi Medals will be presented after all final pool contests have been completed. This Tournament qualifies for points scoring for promotion purposes. The wearing of white & blue judogi is COMPULSORY for this event. The competitor called for a contest first must wear a white suit. The competitor called for a contest second must wear a blue suit. All competitors must wear a belt of which is appropriate to their grade. No blue suit = No entry The 2014 Senior British Championships will adopt the 2014 IJF Judogi Measurement Regulations / Rules which came into force on 1st January 2014. Please note: The new rules above are in addition to IJF judogi rules. Full judogi Sokuteiki (measurement) rules can be found www.intjudo.eu/upload/2014_04/16/139765003189305327/guidancejudogi_gb.pdf, on page 18 of the document. 2014 IJF Judogi Measurement Regulations 1) The sleeve: Judogi sleeves must cover up the full arm including wrist in the control position of the judogi jacket (open arms). 2) The jacket: The distance between the sternum top and the lapel crossing point of the jacket vertically must be less than 10cm. The distance between the 2 lapels of the jacket horizontally, needs to be of a minimum of 20 cm. Please note: No spare judogi will be available to borrow at this event. It is the responsibility of the player that their judogi meet the new judogi requirements. Back Patches Only judogi back patches of GBR, SCO, NIR, WAL, and ENG are allowed to be worn. Back patches that state a different country must be removed before competition. You will not be allowed to compete with a back patch showing a federation outside of Great Britain. Please note: The requirement to wear judogi of specific suppliers will not be a rule at this competition. Weight Categories Senior Men: U60kg, U66kg, U73kg, U81kg, U90kg, U100kg, O100kg Senior Women: U48kg, U52kg, U57kg, U63kg, U70kg, U78kg, O78kg Registration & Weigh-In (Please note this process has changed compared to the 2013 event) Saturday 13 December 2014 th Senior Men - U60kg, U66kg, U73kg U81kg, U90kg, U100kg, O100kg: 18:00hrs - 19:00hrs in EIS, Sheffield Senior Women - U48kg, U52kg, U57kg, U63kg, U70kg, U78kg, O78kg: 18:00hrs – 19:00hrs in EIS, Sheffield All competitors MUST bring their VALID judo licence (Team Card/Licence Slip) to registration and also their record book so their grade can be verified. Players must enter and weigh-in in the category they have qualified their spot. Players must also satisfy the minimum weight limit for their category, ie for U73kg must weigh over 66.0kg. Please note: All juniors that weigh-in and competed in the 2014 Junior British Championships on Saturday th 13 December 2014 must register and weigh-in for the Senior event during their allocated time (above) but they will not be required to make their weight category limit. Random Weigh-In Please note: the IJF random weigh-in process will be in operation at this event. A group of randomly selected players will be requested for a random weigh-on before their first contest. The selected players will be advised of their selection for random weigh-in 45 minutes before the start of competition. The selected player than has 45mins to attend the random weigh-in, and must complete this before their first contest. The weight of the athlete cannot be more than 5% higher (without judogi) than the official maximum weight limit of the category. (i.e. a 100kg competitor can weigh a maximum of 105kg without judogi). If any player is over this weight allowance they will not be allowed to compete. th Competition Start Sunday 14 December 2014 Closing Date for entries Strictly Friday 28 November 2014 Entry Fee £22 per person Photography/Filming Spectator Tickets Competition starts: 09:30hrs th By entering the event, all participants and parents or guardians of participants are consenting to photography/filming which may be taken by the BJA or an official BJA contractor at the event. You also accept that these photographs or video may be used in future BJA publications or published by the contractors. Adult Day Ticket: £10 / Concession (under 16’s and OAP’s) Day Ticket: £5 Adult Weekend Ticket: £15 / Concession (under 16’s and OAP’s) Weekend Ticket: £7.50 th Spectator tickets are available at EIS, Sheffield from 07:00 during the event weekend (14 and 15 December 2013) Coaching Passes th Coaches MUST produce a VALID BJA Coach Award card in person in order to be eligible for the following: • To gain entry free of charge to BJA centrally administered National Events. This excludes EJU and IJF events. • To gain mat side access with their player at a BJA centrally administered National Event (Only one coach per player will be permitted at any one time).
