Drawing Skills
Instructor: Dr. Quincy Egginton
This class will review the elements and principles of art and exercise them through drawings. Emphasis will be on developing
skills such as perspective and rendering value using cross-hatching. Students new to drawing will be directed through these
projects and experienced students will build on their creative capability. Please bring a sketchbook.

Collage: Pieces of Your Life
Instructor: Dr. Quincy Egginton
Collage is fun, easy, and creative! Experiment with different papers and materials (including mementos or other items
meaningful to your life), techniques, and ideas to create spirited and innovative collages. Each class will encourage exploration
and then critiques will allow you to learn more about color, composition, texture, and shape. Students of all levels are welcome.
Materials will be provided and are included in the fee.

Landscapes Around the World with Watercolors
Instructor: Hope Friedland
Working from reference materials in a supportive and friendly atmosphere, visit the places you've always wanted to go using
watercolors. We'll focus on landscapes around the world, including China, and France among other places. Lessons and
demonstrations will explore color mixing, glazing, composition, drawing and the elements of design. Students will develop a
variety of skills including brush work and working from photo resources. Instruction includes individual attention and group
critiques. A materials list will be sent to registered students.

Whether you’re completely new to LinkedIn or have some experience, this three-part series will help you to re-evaluate how
you portray yourself, show your personality and "brand" in the best light, and utilize LinkedIn as a great business and job
seeker’s networking tool. You’ll craft a profile, learn to build your network by seeking out and getting involved with groups of
like-minded people, add and mine connections, ask for and give recommendations, learn the power of LinkedIn groups, and

Job Search Boot Camp for Millennials

Developed for college students and new grads, this fast-paced, highly interactive workshop guides young adults in pinpointing
where their skills and interests intersect with specific careers, and teaches them how to network, research, package and
promote themselves for the right internship or job. In two sessions students will understand how to create a dynamic job search
marketing campaign and will have the tools needed to pursue the ideal job in the field of their choice. Come prepared to work in
groups and share your ideas with the class. You must sign up to attend both sessions. There will be homework!

The Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais Method, an exercise regimen recommended by Andrew Weil, is recognized for the strategies it employs to
improve posture, flexibility, coordination, athletic ability and to help those with restricted movement, chronic pain and tension.
The Feldenkrais Method uses a process of organic learning, movement, and sensing to free you from habitual patterns and
allow for new patterns of thinking, moving and feeling to emerge. Please bring a padded yoga mat to class.

Yoga for an Active Life

We’ll focus on poses designed to improve strength, balance, and flexibility in areas that are prone to soreness, including core,
lower back, hamstrings, quads, shoulders and neck. You’ll increase power and stamina, which can result in improved

Introduction to Moving for Better Balance through T’ai Chi
Instructor: Angela Hultberg
Overcome the fear of falling and live a stronger, healthier, and more independent life by participating in the Moving for Better
Balance program. The focus is on preventing falls through the regular practice of T’ai Chi, which addresses the multiple
dimensions of balance and reduces the likelihood of falling. Participants receive best results by practicing twice a week.

Memoir Writing Bootcamp: Time and Place
Instructor: Joan Motyka
How do memoir writers come to understand the past – and see it through the prism of the present? And where does place – a
childhood home, a treasured hideaway, a battlefield far away – shape those memories and stories? This five-hour bootcamp will
include in-class writing, readings from published writers and discussion, with the goal of helping you either start writing your
story or moving it forward. Bring your lunch.

Creative Writing Workshop: Tuesday
Instructor: Amy Ralston Seife
Designed to appeal to both new and experienced writers, this course will help you develop your powers of observation,
imagination, language and technique. The course will combine in class writing exercises, instruction about craft, and take-home
assignments to inspire ideas, generate new material and give you tools to improve your fiction, creative nonfiction or memoir.
Students will receive teacher and peer feedback of their work in a supportive workshop environment. Class size is limited to 8 to
ensure individual attention.

Creative Writing Workshop: Wednesday

This course will be run as a workshop. Every week, students will share work and be given feedback regarding structure,
description, character development, point of view and dialogue. To enroll in this class, you must have taken a creative writing
workshop with the teacher, or submit a three-page writing sample to [email protected]. Class size is limited to 8 to
ensure individualized attention.

• School Closing due to inclement weather – You will NOT be contacted if your class is canceled. If you are in doubt if a class is
running, it’s your responsibility to find out and you may do so by:

If the Mamaroneck School District cancels school, both day and evening Continuing Education classes will be canceled as well. If
the District calls for a one-hour delay, morning classes will begin 1/2 hour late; if there is a two-hour delay, morning classes are
canceled and afternoon and evening classes will meet as scheduled. If weather conditions become severe later in the day and
you’re in doubt if your class is running, check web-sites www.LMCCE.org and www.mamkschools.org, or call the office, 6989126. Make up Dates: A make-up class is offered, whenever possible, if a session is canceled due to inclement weather, teacher
illness, or other unavoidable circumstances. The make-up class is generally scheduled the week after the last regular session of
the course. Students assume all risk of changes in their personal schedules. An absence does not result in a refund, tuition
credit, or make-up session. Refunds & Withdrawals - If the Center cancels a course due to low enrollment, you will receive a full
refund. If you withdraw from a class before it begins, you must notify us 5 FULL BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO THE FIRST CLASS
MEETING (not counting the day of class), to receive a refund less a $10 administrative fee. No other refunds or credits will be
granted and no discounts given for missed classes or if you are unable to attend the make-up date.
