I invite you to come to a wonderful setting with a lake, several swampy areas, trails, cabins, gazebos, birches all around with their
yellow leaves, and red maples as well. A wonderful painting location any time of year and you do not have to leave the property!
If you desire to leave the property, there are the villages of Gooderham, Irondale and Kinmount fairly close by, and of course, the
surrounding countryside.
On arrival please stop at the Office (1st log building on the right) to register and get the weekend itinerary and site map. The
Balsam Centre will once again be available to us……it is a separate building with studios for oil and water based medias. Right next
door is the Dining Centre. Our meals are there, cafeteria-style; your accommodation package includes 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches,
and 2 dinners.
Friday’s “Happy Hour” will be held in the OAK CENTRE Lounge(s) at 5:00 p.m. The Oak Centre is also our residential building;
complete with lounges, cozy fireplaces, country style rooms, and has been reserved for our accommodations. We will have our
evening get-togethers there. Dinner at the dining hall will be at 6:00 p.m. It is just a short hop back down the road. The Friday
evening demonstration by CAROLYNE PASCLE will inspire you to wash away you cares with her loose and vibrant Watercolours. It
will be held after dinner in the bigger studio. This should get everyone in gear for the painting ahead!
Saturday’s activities could include painting (inside or outside), discussing art, relaxing, reading, walking on the many trails on the
property. Whatever suits your fancy. Saturday’s meals include breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Saturday evening we will gather in the painting studios for our ‘show & tell’ of work produced, followed by critiques by our
instructor. Then it is off to the OAK CENTRE lounge for a relaxing evening where we can share our weekend painting experiences,
listen to music, play games etc. etc. Sunday after breakfast it is painting time again, followed by lunch.
