Each Novice, Advanced and Excellent entry will compete twice in the class entered and each Rally Advanced/Excellent (RAE) entry will compete two times in both the Advanced and Excellent classes. Cumulative scores and times will be used to determine placements in each of the four classes. If there are any ties for placements, each team will run once for score and time. In the case of ties for RAE placements, the team will run an Excellent course. For this National Event, scoring will be in accordance with the AKC Rally® Regulations with the following exceptions: The first attempt/performance of each station will be evaluated and scored accordingly. Failure to perform the principal parts of any station on the first attempt/performance will result in an IP (Incorrectly Performed -10 points) penalty. There will be no retries allowed for any station. There will not be any 3 point retry penalties. The maximum penalty for each station will remain at 10 points. DOGS ELIGIBLE TO ENTER The RNC is open to all dogs, which meet the criteria below, that are 6 months of age or older that are registered with the American Kennel Club or have an AKC Limited Registration, ILP/PAL or an AKC Canine Partners listing number, or approved FSS breeds eligible to participate. Dogs may only be entered in one class. Qualifying Period for the event is December 1, 2013 – November 30, 2014. Novice Class Qualifications Dogs must have earned a confirmed Rally Novice (RN) title during the qualifying period. At least three (3) Novice scores of 90 or more, earned during the qualifying period, are required. Advanced Class Qualifications Dogs must have earned a confirmed Rally Advanced (RA) title during the qualifying period. At least three (3) Advanced scores of 90 or more, earned during the qualifying period, are required. Excellent Class Qualifications Dogs must have earned a confirmed Rally Excellent (RE) title during the qualifying period. At least three (3) Excellent scores of 90 or more, earned during the qualifying period, are required. Rally Advanced Excellent Class Qualifications Dogs must have earned a confirmed Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE) title at any time prior to, or during; but no later than by the end of the qualifying period. Dogs must have earned three (3) scores of 95 or more during the qualifying period in either Advance B or Excellent B. Dogs must have earned at least five (5) double qualifying scores from the Advanced B & Excellent B classes during the qualifying period. Express mail & overnight entries must include the signature waiver allowing them to deliver the package. All entries will be confirmed via email within 24-48 hours of receipt, please be sure to provide your email address. A twenty-five ($25.00) dollar collection fee will be added to the amount of each returned check. ERRORS ON ENTRY FORMS Owners are responsible for errors on entry forms and no entry fee will be refunded in the event of such errors or cancellation of entries after the trial has closed. ENTRY LIMITS & WAIT-LIST Entries will be limited to 80 dogs in Novice, 80 dogs in Advanced, 80 dogs in Excellent and 160 dogs in Rally Advanced Excellent and an email confirmation will be issued when the entry is processed. When entry limits have been met, a wait-list will be kept. If an entry is cancelled prior to the closing date for entries (January 26th), a dog that has been wait-listed for that class will be confirmed in the event. Please send any updates to [email protected]. ENTRY FEES shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from championship by action of Trial Committee. If because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open or to complete the trial, no refund of entry fees will be made. REFUNDS for cancellation of entries prior to the closing date for entries of the trial will be made within 45 days after the closing date for the event. No entry fee will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. No entry fee will be refunded in the event a dog is absent, disqualified, excused, or barred from championship by the action of the Trial Committee. ENTRY FEES FOR BITCHES IN SEASON will be refunded if the Trial Secretary is notified in writing at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the event on Friday, March 13, 2015. Vet statements must be provided to the Trial Secretary in writing to receive a refund. Entry fees will not be refunded for bitches in season if not received on or before March 13, 2015. Refunds for bitches in season will be made within 45 days after the event. CANCELLATION OF ENTRIES Notice of cancellations must be received prior to the event closing date for a full refund. You may cancel an entry via email to [email protected]. ALL DOGS MUST BE ON LEASH, which must be held by the handler at all times when on trial grounds except when in the designated warm-up area or competing in the ring. Dogs may NOT be on retractable leads or long-lines while inside the buildings. SPECIAL TRAINING COLLARS ARE PROHIBITED. CRATING: Each dog entered in the AKC Rally® National Championship will be allotted one 3’x5’ space. Un-entered dogs will only be allowed in the facility if they can share the crate with an entered dog, or if their crate can be stacked on top of an entered dog’s crate within the 3’x5’ space. A “crate” is defined as having a top, bottom and 4 walls, all interconnecting, thus preventing the dog from escaping. No ex-pens will be allowed in the facility. Each exhibitor will be required to display an information card on the outside of each crate; card(s) will be supplied at check-in. The information card must have your name and emergency contact information (cell phone # or other). EXHIBITOR CHECK IN TIMES. Exhibitors are encouraged to do “Event Check-In” on Thursday, March 12th. At Event Check-In, exhibitors will receive their armband, catalog and an event souvenir bag. Time and location for check-in will be sent via email notification approximately two weeks prior to the event. Exhibitors MUST check-in at each ring they are showing in, each day. FACILITY ACCESS Exhibitors should unload their crates and enter the Purina Event Center through the large overhead roll-up door. Dog bathing facilities are available in the Event Center. No swimming (dogs and people) allowed in any pond on the property. All exhibitors and their dogs must remain on the part of the property owned by Purina Farms. Trespassing on Purina Animal Nutrition property is forbidden. Purina Farms and Purina Animal Nutrition are not affiliated. WARM-UP RING In accordance with the AKC Obedience Regulations, Chapter 1, Section 33 a warm-up ring for RNC exhibitors will be available ONLY on Friday and ONLY for dogs entered in the AKC Rally® National Championship. No exhibitor is allowed to use the ring without AKC Staff in the building. Rally signs will not be available. Exhibitors are expected to share the ring. The ring will be monitored and if there are any problems, it will be closed. Exhibitors must be respectful of each other. 8 NOTICES TO ALL EXHIBITORS CONT’D A Full Service Food Concession is available on site. No outside food or beverage is allowed on the Purina Farms Property. Violators will be reported to the AKC. No dogs are allowed in the Checkerboard Café or on the second floor of the Purina Event Center (unless given prior permission) or in any restrooms or human bathing areas. Parking No driving or parking is allowed in the following areas: • Fire lanes, sidewalks, inside either Hall or any grass areas at Purina Farms. • All exhibitors must abide by all posted signage and the 15-minute unloading/loading parking time limit designated around the Purina Event Center. INCLEMENT WEATHER in the event a severe weather or tornado warning is issued for the immediate area, Site Security will notify the Purina Farms management team. The team will notify guests, participants and exhibitors of an impending weather event via the public address system inside the building and via the storm siren and announcements outside the building. Guests, visitors and exhibitors will be asked to seek cover in place in designated areas. Designated areas to seek cover, marked as severe weather shelter areas, include the center hallway of the Purina Event Center, the inside wall of Gateway Hall and the South stairwell. After the weather event ends, Purina Farms management teams will announce all clear. MOTORIZED VEHICLES exhibitors may not bring or use motorized vehicles on the property unless a medical condition requires the use of one. Documentation must be presented upon request by Purina Farms staff. SAFETY, BEHAVIOR and LIABILITY: The safety of the dog is our primary concern. By entering this trial, exhibitors acknowledge that they are familiar with the rules and regulations of the AKC. It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create an unnecessary disturbance or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior, may, at the discretion of the Event Committee, be asked to leave the show site. In such case, no refund of any fees paid will be made. The American Kennel Club and its agents, employees, etc., will assume no responsibilities for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers, or to any of their dogs or property and further assumes no responsibility for injury to children. The American Kennel Club reserves the right to decline entries for cause and may remove any dog on account of aggression. No one shall have any recourse or claim against the American Kennel Club or any official thereof. This club does agree to arbitrate claims as set forth on the Official AKC Entry Form for this event. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary and the owner and/or lessor of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. Additionally, I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify, defend and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties for damage because of bodily injuries, including death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves), or on account of damage to property, arising out of or in consequence of my (our) participation in this event, however such, injuries, death or property damage may be caused, and whether or not the same may have been caused or may be alleged to have been caused by the negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees, agents, or any other persons. I (WE) AGREE THAT ANY CAUSE OF ACTION, CONTROVERSY OR CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE ENTRY, EXHIBITION OR ATTENDANCE AT THE EVENT BETWEEN THE AKC AND THE EVENT-GIVING CLUB (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED IN ITS PREMIUM LIST) AND MYSELF (OURSELVES) OR AS TO THE CONSTRUCTION, INTERPRETATION AND EFFECT OF THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE SETTLED BY ARBITRATION PURSUANT TO THE APPLICABLE RULES OF THE AMERICAN ARBITRATION ASSOCIATION. HOWEVER, PRIOR TO ARBITRATION ALL APPLICABLE AKC BYLAWS, RULES, REGULATIONS AND PROCEDURES MUST FIRST BE FOLLOWED AS SET FORTH IN THE AKC CHARTER AND BYLAWS, RULES, REGULATIONS, PUBLISHED POLICIES AND GUIDELINES. By entering this show, all owners, handlers, breeders and kennels agree that all rights to televise, videotape, photograph, advertise, promote and publicize or otherwise exploit this show, or the persons or animals participating in it or the results of the championship before, during or after the event, shall belong solely to The American Kennel Club and their respective assigns, including the use of the names, likenesses or biographical matter of all dogs, owners, handlers, breeders and kennels participating in the show and no such owner, handler, breeder or kennel shall allow any other party to make commercial use of any videotape or photograph of any person or animal participating in this championship. NOTE: By entering this show all owners, handlers, breeders and kennels agree to make themselves available for interview if requested. Exhibitors may video tape individual runs only for personal use. 2. (Event Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e., A or B division. 3. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his/her name. Dogs listed in the AKC Canine PartnersSM Program may be eligible to enter all-breed AKC obedience trials at the club’s option.
