2014 has been a year of
transition for the RWTA
which began with the
resignation in May of our
previous Executive Officer
David Costelloe, and his
wife Dianne the RWTA’s
Administration Officer. An
executive search process
was then commencing by
the Board to find a new
Executive Officer to serve the
Association, and following
numerous interviews, I was
selected to fulfil the role as
your new Executive Officer.
IcommencedwiththeRWTAon
Monday22ndSeptember2014,
andoneofmyfirstdutieswas
toplaceAnneThorntoninthe
roleofAdministrationOfficer,
completinganotherphaseof
thetransitionprocess.Thenext
stagewastoconductareviewof
wheretheRWTAwasplacedasa
memberassociation,withregards
togovernanceandoperating
procedures,statedivisionsand
sub-committees,andthiswillbe
completedbytheendoftheyear.
Ialsotooktheopportunitytovisit
boththeSouthAustralianand
QueenslandDivisionsandIwill
followthesevisitswithtripstoNSW,
WA,TAS,ACT&NTearlynextyear.
Iwouldliketotakethisopportunityto
thankallmembers,businesspartners

Agents Announced - GSA Market release
Over the last 11 months, the
scheme agents in NSW
have been tendering for the
renewal of their Wor Cover
license.
GallagherBassettServices(GBS)
and changing,whocurrently
operateintheschemewere
notappointedunderthenew
arrangements.
Thislicenseallowsforscheme
agentstoprovideworkers
compensationpolicyandclaims
servicestoNSWemployers.
ForGBSand changingtheywill
continuetooperatein2015under
theoldcontractarrangementsuntil
allpoliciesandclaimshavebeen
movedtotheinsurersthatwere
awardedanewcontract.Thiswill
becompletedby31December

A New Vision for MaxiTRANS in NSW
2 October 2014 Australia’s
leading supplier of heavy
duty road transport trailers,
MaxiTRANS, has announced
that it will be opening a
wholly owned dealership
networ in NSW. The
Company said the decision
to begin selling its six trailer
and rigid body brands directly
into the regions previously
serviced by S Trailers was
made in order to allow S to
shift its focus towards new
business ob ectives. The new
arrangement will come into
effect immediately, by
mutual agreement.
