No. 6/6 Baylor Completes Non-Conference Slate vs. Prairie View A&M...
The sixth-ranked Baylor Lady Bears will close out their non-conference slate when they host Prairie View A&M, Monday,
Dec. 29, at 7 p.m. (CT).
Baylor is 10-1 on the season and moved up three spots in both The AP Poll and the USA Today/ESPN Coaches Poll after
posting road victories over two ranked teams, No. 19 Syracuse and No. 18 Michigan State.
Head coach Kim Mulkey’s Lady Bears are led by sophomore forward Nina Davis’ 22.8 points and 8.5 rebounds a game.
Sophomore post Khadijiah Cave follows with 12.8 points and 6.2 rebounds an outing while sophomore guard Imani Wright
tallies 11.3 points per contest. Junior point guard Niya Johnson dished out 8.7 assists per game and has averaged 10.5 apg
over the last six contests.
Under second-year head coach Dawn Brown, Prairie View A&M is 3-8 on the season. Senior guard Jeanette Jackson leads
the Panthers in scoring at 17.7 ppg while junior center Shamiya Brooks is the squad’s top rebounder at 7.7 per contest.
Celebrating 10 Years...
Baylor women’s basketball will celebrate the 10th anniversary of its 2005 NCAA Championship at halftime on Saturday,
January 3, when the Lady Bears take on Oklahoma State at 11 a.m. Most of the players and staff from the 2005 team will be
returning for the celebration.
Regular Season Non-Conference Record...
The Lady Bears are 163-11 in regular-season, non-conference games under head coach Kim Mulkey. Baylor has lost only
one regular-season, non-conference games at the Ferrell Center. That loss came on Nov. 11, 2006, vs. 12th-ranked Purdue in
the finals of the Preseason WNIT. Nine of Baylor’s 11 losses have come vs. ranked opponents as Montana State (75-66,
Bozeman, Mont. Nov. 30, 2002) and Wisconsin (59-58, St. Thomas, V.I., Nov. 29, 2008) are the only two non-ranked teams to
defeat the Lady Bears in a regular-season non-conference game.
Nina Davis Nets 3rd Straight Big 12 Player of the Week...
Nina Davis picked up her third-consecutive Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week recognition, she
shared the honor with Texas forward Nneka Enemkpali. Davis led Baylor to victories over No. 19 Syracuse and No. 18 Michigan
State to claim the championship trophy in the Florida Sunshine Classic. The sophomore forward averaged 20.5 points and 13.0
rebounds en route to earning tournament MVP honors. Against Syracuse, she scored 26 points and pulled down a career-hightying 17 rebounds while dishing out two assists. Davis narrowly missed another double-double with 15 points and nine
rebounds in the victory over Michigan State. She is averaging a team-high 22.8 points while hauling down a team-leading 8.5
rebounds on the season. Davis ranks No. 2 in the Big 12 in scoring and No. 3 in rebounding.

Six Underclassmen Leading Team in Scoring...
§ A quartet of sophomores, Nina Davis (22.8), Khadijiah Cave (12.8), Imani Wright (11.3) and Alexis Prince (8.3) and
two freshman Kristy Wallace (8.3) and Dekeiya Cohen (7.6) are the team’s top scorers.
§ Davis, a 5-11 forward, is leading the team in both scoring and rebounding with 22.8 points and 8.5 rebounds an outing.
§ Davis scored a career-high 43 points at Ole Miss. In the last five games, Davis has averaged 26.5 points per game (31 vs.
UTPA, 43 at Ole Miss, 21 vs. Idaho, 33 vs. SFA, 26 vs. #19 Syracuse, 15 vs. #18 Michigan State).
§ Cave, a 6-2 post, is averaging 12.8 points and 6.2 rebounds. Against Utah State, Cave cracked the starting lineup for the
first time in her career and earned Basketball Travelers Classic MVP honors en route to leading Baylor to the tournament
championship with a 3-0 mark.
§ Cave leads the team and the Big 12 Conference in field goal percentage at 65.5 (55-84) percent and has scored in double
figures in eight of 11 games this season.
§ Wright, a 5-9 guard, is scoring 11.3 points a contest, tallying double digits in eight of 11 games this season, including a
career-high 18 points vs. both Oral Roberts and #18 Michigan State.
Davis and Wright Earn All-Tourney Honors...
§ Nina Davis and Imani Wright both earned All-Tournament Team honors in the Florida Sunshine Classic. Davis was
named the tournament’s MVP.
§ Baylor won the tournament with a 2-0 record, defeating both #19 Syracuse (74-72) and #18 Michigan State (84-65).
§ Baylor trailed at the half in both games but came back to post victories. The Lady Bears trailed Syracuse, 29-26, at the
intermission and entered the lockerroom at halftime vs. Michigan State with a 13-point deficit (46-33). BU outscored
Michigan State 51-19 in the second half to claim the win and the tournament trophy.

No. 9 North Carolina (81-45) and No. 16 Stanford (88-45).
§ Senior guard Jeanette Jackson leads the Panthers in scoring at 17.7 ppg while junior center Shamiya Brooks is the squad’s top

§ Since taking over a squad that was just 7-20 the season prior to her arrival, Kim Mulkey has averaged 28.9 wins a
season.
§ In her 15 seasons at the program's helm, Mulkey has posted an impressive 414-87 (.826) record which ranks her No. 2
nationally in winning percentage among active coaches.
§ Mulkey’s record over her first four years was 98-35 (.737), averaging 24.5 wins per year. Over the last 10-plus years, she
is 316-52 (.859) while averaging 34.0 victories per season.
§ Mulkey owns more than half (414) of the program’s 806 all-time victories. BU was 394-398 prior to her arrival, 414-87

Defense...
§ Baylor’s loss to Stanford (50.9%, 11/16/12) in 2012-13 halted a streak of 217 straight wins when holding an opponent to
50 percent or less shooting from the field, dating back to March 25, 2006, an 82-63 Sweet 16 loss to eventual national
champion Maryland.
§ In 488 of 501 games under Kim Mulkey, the Lady Bears have held their opponent at or below 50 percent from the field
with only five of those efforts coming in the last 13 seasons.
§ In Baylor’s last 301 games, only two opponents (Stanford in 2012-13 & West Virginia in 2013-14) have shot at or above
50 percent from the floor.
§ Baylor is 124-3 since the start of the 2009-10 season when allowing 60 or fewer points, including a 33-0 mark in 201112, a 25-0 record in 2012-13, 18-0 in 2013-14 and 7-0 this season. The Lady Bears have won 84-straight games when

BU In the Polls...
§ The Lady Bears have 236 AP Top 25 poll appearances in the 2000s, all of which have come under head coach Kim
Mulkey, to rank No. 7 on the wire service’s active all-time list.
§ All told, BU has been ranked in 252 AP polls which ranks No. 22 on the all-time list.
§ BU has been ranked in a school-record 209 straight AP polls dating back to week nine of the 2003-04 listing when it broke
in at No. 24.
§ BU had been continuously ranked among the nation’s top 10 teams since the first AP poll of the 2010-11 season when it
was No. 2. All told, the Lady Bears were ranked in the AP’s top 10 for 67 straight polls, however, that string was snapped
on Jan. 20, 2014, after BU suffered a 16-point loss (76-60) at unranked Kansas. After a one week hiatus, with its overtime
win at then-No. 8 Oklahoma State on Jan. 26, 2014, Baylor moved back into the top 10 (Jan. 27) at No. 9 and stayed
among the top 10 until dropping to No. 13 on Nov. 24, 2014. BU moved back into the top 10, at No. 9, in the Dec. 8 poll.
§ Baylor has spent 39 weeks at No. 1 in the AP listing which ranks fifth all-time.
§ Baylor went wire-to-wire in both the 2011-12 AP Poll and the USA Today/ESPN Coaches’ Poll. It is just the ninth time that

2014-15 BAYLOR WOMEN’S BASKETBALL GAME NOTES
§ On January 3, 2011, for the first time in program history, Baylor's women’s basketball
team ascended to the top spot in The Associated Press poll. Baylor had been ranked No. 2
every week since the beginning of the 2010-11 season but moved to the top spot after
then-top-ranked Connecticut lost at then-No. 9 Stanford, 71-59.
§ The Lady Bears are Baylor’s first team to ever achieve a No. 1 listing in an AP Poll. Men’s
basketball’s highest ranking was No. 3 and football’s highest ranking was No. 3 for two
consecutive weeks during the 1953 season and one week in 2013.

§ Alexandria Gulley is a 5-9 point guard from Dallas’ Skyline High School who led her team
to the regional final for the first time since 1997. Gulley averaged 13.6 points, 3.8 assists,
2.4 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game as a junior. She was named District 9-5A Offensive
MVP and was also selected to this season’s Dallas Morning News’ preseason all-area team.
Gulley is ranked No. 50 nationally by the Girls Basketball Report and is listed as the No. 2
point guard in the state of Texas by All Star Girls Report.
§ Beatrice Mompremier, a 6-4 post player from Miami, led Miami High School, to a 31-1
record and the 2014 Class 8 A Championship while averaging 15.0 points, 14.0 rebounds
and 4.0 blocks per game. Mompremier received numerous personal accolades including:
Florida Gatorade Player of the Year, USA Today Florida Player of the Year, Class 8A firstteam all-state, South Florida Player of the Year and Dade County Player of the Year. This
past summer she was a member of the 2014 USA U18 National Team that won the gold
medal at the FIBA Americas U18 Championship. Mompremier is ranked No. 10 nationally
and No. 2 at her position by Prospects Nation and No. 18 nationally and No. 3 at her
position by All-Star Girls Report.
In the Big 12’s 19th Season, Did You Know?
§ Baylor, with its 44 straight regular season league wins from Feb. 23, 2011 to Jan. 19,
2014, broke Oklahoma’s Big 12 record for consecutive regular season conference victories.
The Sooners won 24 straight games from March 3, 2005 until Jan. 27, 2007.
§ Baylor’s 11 Big 12 titles is the most in league history, ahead of Oklahoma’s 10.
§ Baylor is one of three programs to post a perfect league record: Baylor - 18-0 (2012 &
‘13); Nebraska - 16-0 (2010); Oklahoma - 16-0 (2006), and the only one to post back-toback unblemished league records.
§ Baylor has won the most regular season Big 12 games and owns the league’s best regular

§ Kim Mulkey is 176-54 (.765) in regular-season league play, including 162-52 (.757) vs.
current Big 12 teams. Baylor was 27-37 (.422) in league play prior to Mulkey’s arrival.
§ Justis Szczpanski, a 6-4 forward from Fort Worth, Texas, also attends IMG Academy.
Szczepanski is a very agile athlete that has length, wing span and lateral quickness that
allows her to defend multiple positions. At Aledo (Texas) High School last year she was
named first-team All-District 7-4A while averaging 14.5 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.0
blocks per game. She is ranked No. 59 nationally and No. 11 at her position by Girls
Basketball Report.

§ Baylor’s 2014-15 roster features four McDonald’s All-Americans. Junior Niya Johnson
and redshirt sophomore Alexis Prince were 2012 honorees, and freshman Ieshia Small
was named to the 2013 honor list. Junior Alexis Jones, was a 2012 honoree as well, she is
sitting out the 2014-15 season after transferring to Baylor from Duke.
Early Signees...
§ Kalani Brown, a 6-5 left-handed post player and the nation’s top-ranked post, from
Salmen High School in Slidell, La., has played for three state championships at Salmen HS,
winning back-to-back state crowns the last two seasons. Last year she averaged 21.0
points, 13.0 rebounds, 5.0 blocks and 2.0 steals in addition to earning numerous awards.
Brown was awarded District MVP, All-Metro Player of the Year, the Sugar Bowl MVP, the
Class 4 Player of the Year and the 2014 Class 4A State Championship tournament MVP. She
was also crowned Louisiana Miss Basketball, Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year and
Louisiana Hall of Fame Athlete of the Year. Brown won a gold medal with Team USA at the
2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship in Mexico.
§ Alyssa Dry, a 5-9 combo guard from Fort Worth, Texas, attends IMG Academy in
Bradenton, Fla. She is an outstanding athlete who excels in the transition game and has
the ability to find open teammates or hit the open shot. Last year at Aledo (Texas) High
School, Dry was named to the Class 4-A TABC All-State team and also District 7-4A MVP
while averaging 16.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 4.2 steals per contest. She is
ranked No. 68 nationally by the Girls Basketball Report.
