Media contact: Donna Stolzer 908-526-1200, ext. 8383 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE #25 September 2, 2014 Theatre at RVCC Announces 2014-2015 Season The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College’s (RVCCArts) 2014-2015 season offers something for everyone, from the comedy of Vicki Lawrence’s “Mama,” to world premiere dances from American Repertory Ballet, to a musical version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, to a performance by the always thrilling Golden Dragon Acrobats—and so much more. “We’re excited to offer the community an arts center right in the neighborhood, with a new season of more than 50 shows, from nine different countries. The season includes music, theatre, dance, comedy and spectacle designed for everyone from preschoolers to seniors in their 90s,” said Alan Liddell, Director of The Theatre at RVCC. Performances begin at noon and 7 p.m. and include a discussion, as well as light refreshments. The series is recommended for individuals age 14 and older. Tickets cost $10 for noon performances and $25 for 7 p.m. shows. The following performances will be included, all with general admission: Appearance of Life (Written and performed by Jennifer S. Jones), October 21 The Night Before Christmas Carol (Performed by David zum Brunnen), December 16 The Other Mozart (Written and performed by Sylvia Milo), January 27 Notes to the Motherland (Written by Paul Rajeckas and George L. Chieffet; Performed by Paul Rajeckas), April 7 Unsinkable Women: Stories and Songs from the Titanic (Deborah Jean Templin), May 5 The Theatre’s CLUB 28 series will feature a variety of musical events, all on Thursdays with performances at noon and 7 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for the noon performances and $25 for the 7 p.m. performances. Each noon performance is set in our on-stage theatre-style seating and is approximately one hour in length. The evening shows, set in our relaxed on-stage cabaret 2 setting, include refreshments and are approximately two hours long. The following performances will be included, all with general admission. Theatre of Illusion (The Spencers), Saturday, March 28, at 2 p.m. (60-minute, sensoryfriendly performance; $10) & 7 p.m.; $15 Popovich Comedy Pet Theatre (Gregory Popovich), Saturday, April 18, at 7 p.m.; $15 Lifeboat (Catherine Wheels), Friday, May 1, at 7 p.m.; $15 The Theatre at RVCC’s 2014-2015 Sampler Series is designed for young children and their families.
