Roadway or traffic engineering experience is not required, and applicants may apply out of general interest or concern for traffic related safety issues. The Committee generally meets once per month in the early evening. The appointee will complete an abbreviated term set to expire on June 15, 2015, then be eligible for a full three year appointment. As background, the purpose of the Committee is to advise the Board of Selectmen through the development of a continuous program of traffic safety and control. This Committee, created in the Town’s Bylaws in 1965, consists of seven (7) members, which includes five (5) voting members from the community, as well as the Police Chief and the Superintendent of Streets as non-voting advisors.
