The Chilliwack Lions Club Music & Dance Festival
The festival has been running 67 years and is about to start its 68th Annual Festival. In order to keep operational for over
1800 entries with over 5000 participants, we are in urgent need of 2 different types of Volunteers in
the Festival Management area. If you are able to help with either of the following areas, or would

commitment for 1 person. We are currently still looking for a Jazz coordinator. We are able to offer a small per diem
honorarium. It would be a benefit for these people to have some experience and background with dance competitions,
be they a parent, former student of dance or a teacher who is not currently teaching locally.

Better At Home
The Better at Home Program is accepting applications today for “Friendly Visitors” Please contact

These positions require a one hour weekly commitment. A weekly visit creates lasting,
meaningful, relationships between seniors and volunteers. With regular visits, isolated seniors
experience improved physical, mental, and emotional health and gain a more positive outlook. No
clinical care is required, just a social visit. Hours are flexible and negotiated between the senior and volunteer. These
positions are ideal for retired individuals and those prepared to make lasting relationships.

Big Bunch Leaders Needed!
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fraser Valley is seeking caring, positive adult role models age 19-99 for our brand-new
“Big Bunch” program. Always wanted to become a Big Brother or Big Sister but can’t commit to weekly outings with a
mentee? Big Bunch is a program for our waitlist kids who are waiting for their Big that only requires a once per MONTH
commitment. You get to mentor up to 3 waitlist kids with similar interests once a month for 2-3 hours while doing fun,
recreational activities in the community Activities might include bowling, ice-skating, swimming, indoor rock-climbing or
arts and craft night. Try drop in karate, shoot some hoops, or go explore a corn maze. The program strives to do the

Recruiting male mentors (grade 11 to around to late 20’s) to run an after school group program for grade 6 boys called
“Game On” which focuses on active, healthy living. The same application and screening process applies for the Game On

Chilliwack Animal Safe Haven
A non-profit organization dedicated to saving homeless cats and finding them loving homes. We are
currently caring for over 160 cats. We especially need help Mon.-Fri mornings from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, or

The Canadian Red Cross Society
This non-profit, humanitarian organization is dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most
vulnerable throughout the world, and is seeking a Client Services Volunteer; and an Equipment Cleaning
Volunteer for the Health Equipment Loan Program. The Canadian Red Cross Health Equipment Loan Program - Short
Term Loan Service lends medical equipment (with medical referral) to people in need, on a donation basis. Acting as the
frontline contact for in-person and telephone inquiries from the public, Client Service volunteers dispense and receive
equipment that is being loaned or returned and complete the necessary documentation for same. Interested parties
may submit their applications and resumes quoting, HELP – Chilliwack – Client Services no later than January 31, 2015.

Driver Education Volunteer Instructor

course in January/February 2015. A total of

in helping newcomer immigrants learn English. This
volunteer position is for the evening English classes at

Upper Fraser Valley Crime Stoppers
Upper Fraser Valley Crime
Stoppers is looking for
volunteers. It is made up of a
volunteer Board of concerned citizens, media, and area
law enforcement agencies. As a result it has become an
effective crime control program. Volunteers are needed
to help the Board to increase the public’s general
awareness of the Crime Stoppers Program. There is an
annual membership drive and fundraising events are
organized to support the activities and initiatives of the

Correctional Service of Canada
Assisting successful offender reintegrate
into the community is critical to their
success and our safety. We are looking for
confident, well-rounded, community minded individuals
who are self-aware, critical thinkers and have time
and/or skills they would like to share with those who
need a fresh start. The type of support you can offer is
varied and definitely not limited to community
orientation, income tax preparation, finding
accommodations, introductions to pro-social activities,
transportation to programs/appointments/interviews,
one-to-one mentoring, etc. As well, offenders give back
to the community through their own volunteer efforts

sharing time and providing supports to individuals and
families during the dying and grieving process.

The festival has been running 67 years and is about to start its 68th Annual Festival. In order to keep operational for over

The festival has been running 67 years and is about to start its 68th Annual Festival. In order to keep operational for over
1800 entries with over 5000 participants, we are in urgent need of 2 different types of Volunteers in

The festival has been running 67 years and is about to start its 68th Annual Festival. In order to keep operational for over

The Chilliwack Lions Club Music & Dance Festival
The festival has been running 67 years and is about to start its 68th Annual Festival. In order to keep operational for over
1800 entries with over 5000 participants, we are in urgent need of 2 different types of Volunteers in

mentee? Big Bunch is a program for our waitlist kids who are waiting for their Big that only requires a once per MONTH
commitment. You get to mentor up to 3 waitlist kids with similar interests once a month for 2-3 hours while doing fun,
recreational activities in the community Activities might include bowling, ice-skating, swimming, indoor rock-climbing or
arts and craft night. Try drop in karate, shoot some hoops, or go explore a corn maze. The program strives to do the

Term Loan Service lends medical equipment (with medical referral) to people in need, on a donation basis. Acting as the
frontline contact for in-person and telephone inquiries from the public, Client Service volunteers dispense and receive
