Dogsthorpe Infant School Whole School Newsletter Spring Term 1 09.01.15 Happy New Year! Free Milk! As part of a new Government initiative, ALL children will be offered a glass of milk at lunchtimes. This is in addition to their usual lunchtime drink and will be offered to children having sandwiches as well as hot meals. Don’t forget that hot meals are now FREE for our children, so why not let your child give them a try? Forward Planning…………. Wednesday 14th January – Tempest Photographer will be in school to take Class Photographs. Please ensure your child is wearing correct school uniform. Tuesday 27th January – 2.30pm Year 2 SATS Meeting for parents Friday 30th January – Attendance Certificate Assembly 9.00am in the school hall + January Birthdays Friday 6th February – 4.30pm – 6.00pm School Disco in the hall tickets on sale at the end of January Wednesday 11th & Thursday 12th February – Parent Consultation Evenings. There will also be a Book Fayre in school on these evenings – an excellent way to reward your children for making progress in their learning! Monday 16th February – Friday 20th February – Half Term holidays Friday 6th March, Saturday 7th March & Sunday 8th March – our school will once again be hosting the Peterborough Drama Festival. More details to follow shortly. We need you! Have you got an hour or two free every week? If so, how about volunteering in school? We would love some help with hearing readers or playing maths and reading games with small groups. If you can help, please see Mrs Gardner at the office. Please note: you will be required to complete a DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check and you will not be allocated to your child’s class. Midday Supervisor Vacancy Hours 6.25 per week – Term time only Grade 3 This is an opportunity to join a friendly, committed team. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to help make lunchtimes a positive and happy experience. The Governing Body is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Closing date for applications is 23rd January 2015. Parking outside of school Following a complaint from a local resident can I request that parents show consideration and respect to the residents of Central Avenue and surrounding streets when parking outside our school. Please also ensure that you adhere to all road markings too. This will ensure the safety of all our children and residents. Thank you
