WHAM/WUHF-TV in Rochester, NY is seeking a part-time ASSOCIATE PRODUCER/ASSIGNMENT
DESK ASSISTANT. This position is responsible to gather information, write stories for on-air and web,
create graphics and produce newscasts as needed. They will also assist the assignment editor in
researching stories, making phone calls to news sources, listen to police and fire scanners for breaking
news, and assign news crews to story coverage as needed. They will also be responsible for posting
stories to the station’s website as well as social media pages. Experience: One year professional
experience and/or internship in a television news department preferred. College degree preferred.
Requirements: Knowledge of broadcast journalism. Knowledge of newsroom computers and use of
social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) Ability to work with others. Creativity, people skills, and a positive,

interpret three local broadcast television stations’ ratings, analyze traffic for digital offerings, and support
research to assist Account Executives and Sales Managers in selling the station. The Sales Research
Director will assist in the creation of sales materials used by local and national account executives, sales
assistants, and station management. This position will support Sales and Management and Sales Staff in
the the generation and achievement of their established goals to sell television spot advertising, digital

Experience:

AdConnections, Scarborough (Prime Lingo), KANTAR Media, Google Analytics, or other
comparable software.
 Expert level background and knowledge base in television marketing, including competitive
media, ratings calculations, estimate preparation, television inventory and programming, digital
media and qualitative measurement
 A positive personality is essential, as is strong self-motivation and the ability to multi-task.
