It was a popular movie which came out in December 2013, and was nominated for many awards. This movie was previously scheduled for November but had to be cancelled due to emergency medical reasons. We regret any inconvenience that was caused. Your Movie Committee Monday Night Dart League Super Bowl Party Hosted by Men’s Club Football fans keep February 1, 2015 open. The Men’s Club is hosting a Super Bowl Party in the Blue Heron Room. Come out and watch the game on the big screen in HD. It’s party time. Everyone is invited. You don’t even have to be a fan but it helps. It will be BYOB and snacks. If you come in a group feel free to have your own private potluck. There will be a pool with prizes for each quarter and there will be a 50/50 draw. Spots for the pool will start selling on Wednesday January 14 and will be available at coffee and various functions up till game time or until sold out. If you have any questions call Dave @ 6273. The next session starts February 2nd from 6:45 to 9 pm and finishes Apr 27th, 2015. Play is in the Robin room. If you can't be available on a regular basis then sign up as a SPARE. ALL ARE WELCOME. Instruction and loaner darts available for new players. Sign-up sheets are posted in the hall and will be removed on Jan 16th to allow makeup of teams. We will be having Bridge for anyone wishing to learn to play it. We will teach you how to assess your hand, how to bid and how to answer your partners bid. For further information, please call Bobbie at 3972. Up the Creek - January 16 Attention Crafters Our first class of the year will be held on Jan. 28, 10:00 am in the Robin Room. We have postponed the lighthouse project until the Spring as supplies are not readily available until then. The project will be making a wreath out of coffee filters, yes you read it right, coffee filters. I have made a sample of the wreath and will be on display in the lobby of the hall this week. There will be a project supply list in a basket under the wreath for you to pick up if you are interested. Also supplies listed below. If you are interested in this project please call Bonnie @6273 to let me know how many will be attending. The coffee filters can be dyed so if you want to colour your filters before the class, so they are all ready to go for the craft day. Please let me know and we can arrange for everyone interested in colouring the filters to come to my home the week before and I will demonstrate how to dye them. This is a very easy project, putting it together and dying the filters. Lowe 7171 Here are the supplies you need: Dance, January 31st with Alan Jackson 12 inch Styrofoam wreath, the green rounded one is not as thick as the white flat Styrofoam wreath (I bought mine at Michaels and with 50% coupon it was only $4.50). 300 coffee filters; there can be 2 sizes, either one will do. The smaller filters will make a smaller wreath. The sample in the hall is made with the larger filters. The bottom of the filter measures about 3 ½ inches across. The smaller filter measures about 3 inches across the bottom. Buy the filters with the rippled edges. The dollar store sells both for 100 in package for $1.25 pkg, or you can look around at Walmart or No Frills. I found some at Walmart that were more economical but the pkg had 250 in them. I bought several of the larger amount as I plan to make more than one. Glue gun Glue sticks, will need at least 12 to 15 sticks Scissors Tribute artist James McDermaid, country classic and easy rock. Come out and enjoy one of the best breakfasts in town for only $5.00 with your neighbours. The major expenses in December were the result of our yearly insurance policy coming up for renewal. The General Liability policy was $1,782.00, Host Liquor Liability, $270.00 and Directors & Officers Liability Policy, $594.00. Other costs were the Christmas Dinner $1,168.80 & Christmas Open House $153.33. Current Account balance was $6,232.78, Legal Reserve Savings was $1,139.52 and Legal GIC Account was $10,000.00. Sandy Rutsch, Treasurer Conveners Meeting The Board is asking all Conveners of Activities or their representative to a meeting on Friday January 23rd at 1.00 pm in the Robin room. This meeting is for the purpose of ascertaining what monies are being held by different activities and groups and to go over Policies and Accounting Procedures.
