Medical Fitness Department service charter

Scope of service: MFD is responsible to provide all Medical Fitness screening
required for the applicants of residence visa in the Emirates of Dubai
MFD had been restructured in year 2007 at present Medical Fitness Department
is providing service across Dubai in 15 centers
How to apply for medical fitness screening:
In order to apply for the screening:
 You need a Health card number if currently you have a valid Health card
you may use the same number to proceed, otherwise you need to obtain a
Health card number by applying in MFD –Health card section
 You can apply either by
1- going to designated Typing pools across Dubai
2- 2- Apply online and register for Medical Fitness Screening
DHA-MFD website is: www.dha.gov.ae
Different types of service including Express service 24 Hrs., 48 Hrs., and
4 hrs. Service is provided; the fees are varied based on the type of the
service
You need original passport and National ID in addition to two latest
Photographs
 You may select different location of Medical Fitness centers based
on the catchment area and type of the service you select.
 Medical Fitness screening required for the age of 18 year old
And above
Various fees between 260AED to 690 AED is applied
Individual or Corporate can Apply online via:
www.dha.gov.ae: ”selects MFD and follow the instruction”
Medical Fitness screening for food handlers:
If you work in food related job categories in addition to the below groups you
need additional screening as per requirement of Federal law:
 Nannies
 Nursery staff
 Beauticians
 House maids House keepers and private Drivers
 Food industry workers
Additional screening is required based on the Federal law of U.A.E

Scope of Services in a nut shell:
1. To protect UAE nationals and residents of Dubai from imported
communicable disease via screening of the applicants for residence visa
or renewal of visa
2. To implement federal law no7-2008 in addition to the new law number
28/2010
3. To monitor repatriation of all unfit cases (HIV positive, HBV positive, open
pulmonary tuberculosis) detected through Medical fitness centers to their
respective home countries.
4. To provide Immunization against Hepatitis B based on the Federal Law
28/2010
5. To offer treatment and fallow up for VDRL Positive cases in Medical
Fitness centers
6. To provide treatment for food handlers whom are carrier for food born
infections for instance Salmonella
7. To provide treatment and residential facility for clients who are diagnosed
as open Pulmonary tuberculosis or AFB positive , continuous care in
collaboration with R-Hospital respiratory ward, and deporting them back
home after they are AFB Negative along with one month medicine supply
to assure accuracy and efficacy of treatment
8. To perform Diwaan Food handlers screening
9. Carry on Pre employee screening for airport employees Local and Non
local
10. Joint venture with RTA ‘fitness to Drive screening” for selected Drivers
(Truck drivers and Taxi Drivers)
11. Embalming service for all Expatriates who require service to transfer the
Decease to their home country is available in Muhaisanah
