Think about how many people voluntarily bring change into their lives by having babies, getting married, accepting a new job, or going on vacation some where they have never been. Change can be welcomed and positive, but organizations often struggle with implementing change because they inadvertently force it on their employees. In this workshop we will examine a change model that helps us understand how we respond to change as well as the equation for leading successful change. Educational objectives/ Participants will 1.Understand the difference between change and transition 2. From there we will look at specific clinical examples within the forecast, how an organization must look at their future volumes, and discuss new metrics and statistics that must be thought about in determining future organizational utilization. • Understand the impact factors beyond population growth and aging that will affect the long-term demand for health care services. • Determine the influence of demand forecasting on revenue-based decision making within a sample service line (eg, women’s services). • Connect the importance of demand forecasting to market sensitivity planning. • Define a series of advanced growth metrics grounded in demand forecasting. Session 202: Brian Stephens, Ministry Door County Medical Center Amounts Generally Billed – Who, What, When, Where, and How We will review the proposed IRS regulation 501(r) with particular attention to the calculation and implementation of AGB. By the end of the session, participants will: • Know how to calculate AGB for their facility and when it should be applied • Understand various options and examples of how the proposed regulations might be applied at their facility and other facilities • Gain a greater appreciation for Judge Smails of Caddyshack fame!
