A few Centre Highlights you may have missed:
Ladies Billiards began on January 13th. This group of 6 women are competing with
the Thursday men's group to see who can make the most noise while having fun!
More ladies welcome.
2nd Annual Wellness Workshop
Members and guests enjoyed 5 guest speakers, who shared new and educational
information during our workshop. Styled after “speed dating”, each speaker had 25
minutes to educate members and guests on topics relating to “Your Inner Self”
Many ,many thanks to our guests :
Cathy Cannon.– sharing valuable tips on grieving. Most importantly-the loss of a
loved one is not the only grief we carry.
Robyn Fox: a bubbly educator from Alzheimer's of Oxford. Robyn not only shared
valuable facts on Alzheimer's, Dementia and Resources—but also the importance of
“brain fitness”-keeping your brain active is just as important as physical activity
Christine Mathias: our own Meditation Instructor, taught us all the basics of
meditation and the stress relief benefits of a regular meditation practice.
Kelly Kupczyk: our on-site Registered Massage Therapist– led everyone in a mini
“Facial Yoga Massage”- techniques to give yourself a “non-surgical face lift”
Brenda McLelland: from the Ingersoll Shoppers Drug Mart—offered tips on Winter Skin
Care along with free goody bags for everyone.
What was truly valuable, each speaker is a local resource—easy for everyone to
reach out to for guidance. We are so fortunate to have these wonderful resources
available to us.
“un-Decorating the Center” - WOW!! It takes our team a full day to Deck the Halls
and only 2 hours to un-decorate! But don’t be fooled—these ladies and a couple of
our strong men– put everything away, neat and tidy and organized and ready to go
for next year.
Recipe Club: If you like to eat, cook or need new ideas—then you need to join us!! In
January we tasted 7 new and delicious healthy soups—all different and easy to
make. February is “anything chocolate”.mmmmmm
Genealogy for Beginners: a small but passionate group led by expert Genealogy
instructor Carol Bossenberry, have learned new techniques for researching long lost
family trees.
D.O.T Club has enjoyed two delicious dinners since our last newsletter: Bin Than
Vietnamese Restaurant in Woodstock, and the Elmhurst Inn, where 25 members
enjoyed the dinner prices of 1979

“ALL DRESSED UP”
All Dressed Up, is a program created by Oxford OPP to
assist Grade * and Grade 12 graduating girls with obtaining their grad and
prom dresses. We recognize the costs associated as well as the financial pressure on parents and students. Our hope is to see every graduating student attend in the same fashion as others that may be more financially secure.
Graduation is a right of passage and we hate to see anyone miss this due to
lack of proper attire.
This is our 8th year and we have assisted more than 200 Oxford County girls.
We have hundreds of donated dress and accessories, plus the assistance of
many local businesses, which help us help others.
This year we are fortunate enough to have partnered with “Ingersoll Services
for Seniors” and will be holding the event at their location at 250 Ingersoll St S
on Thursday April 16th from 4-9pm.
We are excited at this partnership and the potential for local seniors to volunteer and help us on the day of the event.
Information is sent out through the Thames Valley School Board as well as local services. If you know of anyone who my benefit from this event, please
contact Michelle Murphy from Oxford County OPP at
[email protected] or 519-320-0700
Would you like to help out? Volunteers needed for: hanging dresses, direct
girls to change areas, help with shoes & jewelry and tell the girls they look
beautiful!!
Do you have any granddaughters with dresses, accessories taking up
space in their closets?.
Gently used dresses and still in style-no more than 5-7yrs old. They are
cleaned after the girls choose the dress, so some minor stains/problems are
ok. Gently worn dress shoes, jewelry, clutch purses—all welcome

We are proud of our new fitness rooms and
want to keep our floors and equipment clean
and the area tidy. There are several ways you
can help, such as wearing proper indoor
footwear (remove your outside shoes when in
the fitness rooms) and when you are finished using the equipment (weights, resistance
bands, mats..etc.) please use the sanitizer wipes to clean the equipment. This helps to
prevent the spread of germs and bacteria that cause illness.
*Please wear indoor shoes when you are using the fitness room*

DEBIT MACHINE
NAME CHANGE
Consideration is being given to installing
a “Debit Machine” at the Main Office as
an additional form of payment.
Six years ago, we started the process for a
“Name the Centre” Contest
Annually the organization cost would be
approximately $50/month and a small
fee/transaction.
Submitted names were reviewed by the
Member’s Council. 5 Choices were presented to the Board of Directors for consideration.
The above costs would be part of the
administrative costs, not to you the
“purchaser”
At this point the Board, initiated a review
of the entire organization and began
work on our Strategic Plan.
However your input is required to assist in
our decision.
Please review the initial 5 “Top Choices”.
Then vote for your choice
OR
Provide an alternative name in the space
provided.
If available, would you use the Debit Machine for:
___Debit Cards
___ Mastercard
___Visa
____Would not use
