Walka Grange February 2015 Issue 2 Welcome to 2015! Ron Murray – Village Manager I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and this year is a happier and brighter new year for you all. The office has moved to Unit 96 alongside of the new Display Unit. This is also where the Site Office is located. We had a great Christmas get-together and some of your photos are attached for “blackmail purposes”. Several residents have had their shoes moved from their alfresco areas at night. The villain appears to be a fox who goes by the name of “The Sly One”. We have received the amenity hall plans and they look great. Below is an artist’s impression – CANT WAIT!! Construction Update Christopher Unicomb Welcome to 2015, I hope the Christmas period was relaxing and you found time to catch up with family and friends. It was a chance for a wellearned break for many tradesman who are working on the project. January has come and gone with plenty of rain to settle the dust. We have managed to start the New Year with another stage and three slabs poured. The construction site is marching over the hill with the help of many local trades. The Community Facility is in final stages of planning, some concept images have been released and on display at the office (villa 96). We are looking forward to starting this exciting addition. The Walka Grange Newsletter will include a Sale / Swap / Free section if any residents wish to list anything. A box will be placed beside the mailboxes for catalogues and local newspapers if you choose to take one. Updated residents list – an updated list can be picked up from the office anytime or phone to request one delivered. Alternatively it can be emailed on a regular basis with any changes. All the plants selected for the village are suitable for this area and are widely grown along the east coast of Australia as far as the Mid North Coast of Queensland. Magnolia Little Gems have been selected because they are a small hardy tree that grow best in full sun, they will also tolerate part shade however tend to be less dense in a shady environment. The lawns need not to be over fed or watered. Fortnightly mowing is finding large variations in lawn growth and this is causing some lawns to be mowed low and this presents a problem with the thatch build up. Looking forward to another busy year ahead and beautiful looking yards & gardens.
