Kneelers: It has not been possible to vacuum the kneelers on a regular basis. On a purely
cleanliness issue, together with the few numbers of kneelers being used, the PCC agreed to
reduce the number available for use. Therefore, a kneeler has been placed on the seat at each
end of the pews in the nave. If you take one to use, will you please return it to the place you
found it at the end of the service.
NOTICES
Please join us for TEA/COFFEE in the Hall after the 10.30 Service today.
The Hearing of the Diocesan Court, to determine whether or not our pews will be replaced by
chairs, has been convened for Friday 27th February at 10.00 a.m. in the Cathedral. This is a
public hearing and anyone may attend. More than that I do not yet know but will update this
information should there be anything further to report before then. LT.
It's that time of year whereby the Annual Reports from the groups from the Cathedral and
St. Martin's are required. Please could you send them by e-mail, or hand them to my good self,
by Saturday 28 February 2015. Thank you. Sue Smith.
The new part-time Administrator for the Cathedral is Sian King. She can be contacted on a
mobile phone (or a message left): 07933 627 594, or e-mailed at
[email protected] .
Lent lunches will be provided every Wednesday during Lent in the Church Hall, St. John's
Church, Risca Road, starting on Ash Wednesday (18th February), from 12 noon to 1.00 p.m.
All are warmly invited to come along.
The St. Woolos Quarterly Newsletter for Winter 2014/15 is now available. If you’ve not been
handed one, please take one, or several, from the table in St Mary’s Chapel. The main aim of
the Newsletter, please remember, is not to replace the Parish Magazine, but to help publicise
the Cathedral, its regular activities, the building and its architecture, its purpose and ambitions
for the future - ‘outreach’ is the byword - to people who would not normally visit or worship
here. Please help by offering copies of the Newsletter to friends, family, visitors, colleagues.
Spread the word!
Diocesan Lent Course 2015 : five weeks of ‘accompanied prayer’
Following on from the Listening Prayer series of event, last year, a Lent Course of 'Accompanied
Prayer’ is offered this year across the Diocese. This is sometimes known as a ‘retreat in daily
life’.
No previous experience is needed. It depends upon a weekly, one-to one meeting with a
prayer guide and taking time for private prayer in between. The prayer guides are available in
various parts of the diocese.
Opening meeting: 22 February 2015 at 3pm in the Cathedral.
Closing meeting: 29 March at 3pm in the Cathedral.
If you are interested in committing to this, or want to know more, ask the Dean or contact the
Reverend Janet Bone 07748 344161
[email protected]
Application forms are at the back of the Cathedral.
