Dear Bulldog Families,
We would like to congratulate Ayman S. for making it to the city spelling bee which will be held on March 13,
2015 at Lindblom Math and Science Academy. Also, congratulations to David R. who will be competing at the City
Science Fair on March 19-22 at the Museum of Science and Industry. Way to go Bulldogs!!
Our Lady Bulldogs (7/8) were 4th in the network for basketball. We are so very proud of them!!
Yesterday our Charity Club took a trip to Ronald McDonalds House and made some cookies as well as delivered all
the non-perishable items that you donated. Thank you for your generosity!!
Tuesday, Feb. 17 students in 8th and kindergarten who need to retake their graduation picture will have the
opportunity on this date.
Thursday, Feb. 19 is the Chinese New Year. It is the year of the goat.
Dore Yearbooks are on sale now. Full color softback yearbooks are $17 and Full color hardcover yearbooks
are $22. Order forms will be sent home with your child. Checks not accepted. You can also order online
at www.inter-state.com/yearbook and enter code 813873. Ordering is available until April 16, 2015.
CSI Winter session has begun. Please visit Dore’s CSI webpage, where the winter 2015 Program materials will be

The FOD will be holding elections for new officers for the 2015-2016 school year. If you are interested in
running for President, Secretary or Treasurer of Friends of Dore please submit interest by April 13, 2015. I
have attached a form where you can state your qualifications and plans if elected-you can also use your own
paper to submit. The forms will be posted so that on April 16, 2015 all Dore families can vote for their new
officers and they will be in place for the 2015-2016 school year. Winners will be announced at the May 4 FOD
meeting at 2:00 p.m.

Feb. 19-Chinese New Year
Saturday, March 21st Dore will be hosting a St. Baldrick’s event. The St. Baldrick’s organization raises funds for
cancer research – specifically childhood cancer. We need volunteers in many different areas. If you would like to
help, please e-mail Jackie Raica at [email protected]. Further information about the event will be sent home
with students shortly. In the meantime, if you would like to learn more about St. Baldricks, please go

Interested in supporting Dore School? Come to LSC, FOD, BAC or Mission Addition meetings. Your voice

T-Together: Develop a partnership with the school by communicating regularly -two way communication.
E-Encourage - Encourage education by setting learning goals; ask questions /converse with your child
about learning.
A-Accountability - Follow up with parent portal, ensure your child completes homework, check daily
assignment book, and develop your child’s sense of personal ownership and accountability for their
learning.
M-Motivate - Support and inspire your child through positive reinforcement in a structured home routine
focused on learning. Cultivate your child’s personal learning goals to acquire college and career readiness.
