How do the newly passed laws in Ohio affect the practice of
APNs and PAs and what does it mean for my institution?
How do we protect our institutions from negligent
credentialing claims? Catherine Ballard, Attorney will present
information regarding the practice of APNs and PAs and on
negligent credentialing.

In this session Michael Miller, Deputy Director of the State
Medical Board of Ohio will provide an update on proposed
rules and regulations, newly enacted rules and regulations,
and a licensure update.

Pharmacy will present information on the Ohio Automated Rx
Reporting System (OARRS) including reporting requirements
and the steps/missteps that can lead to an investigation.

 Credentialing File Audits: Tools and Compliance
Techniques for Credentialing Compliance
Kathy Matzka, CPMSM, CPCS will present information
so that at the completion of the program the participant
will be able to develop customized tools for conducting
audits, evaluate the credentialing process, construct
presentation tools to show the results of audits and
discuss the concept of negligence in credentialing.
 Understanding Telemedicine Credentialing Options
This program presented by Kathy Matzka, CPMSM,
CPCS participants will be able to discuss CMS
regulations, HFAP and TJC requirements for
credentialing telemedicine providers, determine any
bylaws, policies and procedures changes that may be
required and evaluate contracts to determine if all CMS
required CMS language is present.
 Hot Topics in Credentialing and Privileging
In this session, participants will be able to discuss
recent changes in accreditation and regulatory
requirements and current hot topics in credentialing,
recredentialing and privileging.
 Stress….What Stress?
Tami West, PhD will discuss what it means to be
“stressed out” and how to thrive despite our “stressful”
world.
 TJC Standards Review
In this session Laurel McCourt, MD will review TJC
standards that affect the Medical Staff Services office,
including those that are outside the Medical Staff
chapter.

PAYMENT/REFUNDS
Payment or proof of employer check request is required with
your reservation. A refund of the registration fee will be made
to registrants notifying OAMSS of cancellation by March 19,
2015, minus a $50.00 processing fee will be charged for each
cancellation. No refunds will be issued after March 19, 2015,
but you may substitute another person. There will be no
refunds for no-shows. All refunds will be processed 4 – 6
weeks after the conference.
