Principal’s Comments
Dear Parents,
Thank you to the many
parents who have replied to
say they are able to attend
the Resilience Project
Presentation next Wednesday! The
purpose of this evening is to help you
assist your children to be resilient through
the ups and downs of life. We are
delighted to have had a strong response
from parents.
This term, we would love to see all students
arriving at school on time. The first hours in the
morning are the best learning time for children.
When they are late they miss the important
launch section of the lesson designed to set up
the learning for the morning.
How things go at home in the morning
can set the tone for the day ahead.
Children who arrive at school feeling
calm, relaxed, fed and ready can make
the most of the first few hours of the

and show inspiring photos and videos
from his experiences around the world.
The children and staff alike have been
fascinated with Hugh’s funny, heartwarming tales that carry important
messages about the three key ingredients
for a happy life.
Children don’t understand time in the same
way as grown-ups. This can make school
mornings a stressful time of day for
families. Time pressures and competing
demands can turn mornings into a combat
zone.
Next week we will have some tips to help
school mornings run smoothly.
If you find yourself able to come along
next Wednesday, please do so even if you

Having Fun with Colours!
Students learnt how to mix primary colours to create other colours. They also learnt to
distinguish and describe colours using the terms warm and cool.
Students used warm or cool colours to create a pattern to camouflage their hand.
During this lesson, colours became more meaningful to students.
They also learnt to recognise that certain colours make them have different feelings.
Calvin is one of my talented students who enjoys art. He created a wonderful pattern to
camouflage his hand using cool colours. His effort during this session was outstanding.
Well done Calvin.
