Term 1 Week 3 20 February 2015 Kia Ora te whanau, No mai hiri mai,
Good afternoon Salford Community,
We have a responsibility to provide a safe and enjoyable school setting. Under our Health and Safety
guideline, we require all students to have a sunhat at school for Terms 1 and 4 for appropriate use on
sunny days, at break, lunch time, and during physical education classes. We would appreciate your
support in this matter. Uniform hats can be purchased from: UniformNZ—$10.00 (can be ordered
through the school), The Warehouse—$11.50, and other suppliers in town of your choice. The uniform
hat is a navy blue bucket hat.
ROAD PATROL DUTY: Three “Parent Volunteers” have come forward for before school
Road Patrol Duty. Thank you. If anyone else would like to join a
before school roster, please let the office know at
[email protected] with your name, preferred day of the week
and telephone contact details. Help us to keep Salford students
safe crossing the road.
PRE-ENROLMENTS 2015: Reminder to parents who have a child starting school in 2015, please
ensure your enrolment forms are into the office before the end of the month. This allows for both
New Entrant class planning through the year, and the Schools Roll return in March.
Kind regards Kevin Orlowski
SALFORD SCHOOL PTA UNIFORM SHOP
The Office is receiving regular inquiries regarding “preloved”
uniforms. Do you have any tucked in a drawer not being
used?
Would you like to donate your uniforms to the PTA for resale,
as they would be very much welcomed.
SCHOOL DONATION RECEIPTS 2014—will be forwarded to all families in the coming weeks. A reminder that the receipts will be issued for the 2014 school year, and not April to March. Where prac cal all families will also receive these receipts electronically and we encourage you to print and retain these for your Income Tax return as a percentage of your student dona on is recoverable. This is a donation that is assisting other Salford families in
our community.
The School is also in desperate need of little sized uniforms
for little people who have accidents with water, wet days and
muddy results. Unfortunately loan uniforms don’t always
come back .
Uniform items can be dropped at the office at any time.
SALFORD SCHOOL AFTERSCHOOL CARE
Spaces are available in afterschool care.
This runs from 3.00pm through 5:30pm.
If you would like more details, please contact the Office for a
brochure or stop by and have a chat with Gaye Templeton or
call her on 021 022 022 96.
Electronic Communications
Salford would like to be able to continue on the pathway of
communicating electronically with their families. This is the
methodology being used around the country and overseas. This is
fast and efficient, providing we are kept up to date with email
address changes. Please check you are receiving our messages,
and, if not, contact the office or complete a “Contact Details
Change” form on our website.
SCHOOL DONATION INVOICES 2015—will be posted to all families next week. We have had some families request an annual invoice. If you would like an annual invoice instead of a term by term invoice. please contact the office on [email protected] if you would like this op on or have any ques ons around the School Dona on. LOST PROPERTY
The lost property basket has been relocated to the
photocopier room. As this is a working area for the
teaching team, please help us to keep the basket tidy when
looking for lost items.
We are only into Week 3 of Term 1 and already the lost
property basket is overflowing with the lovely weather we
are having. Too many clothing items are still unnamed.
PLEASE name your child’s clothing so that it can be
returned.
HEALTH AND SAFETY — Students that may require
treatment through the school day. For Health and Safety reasons, parents are required to complete a
Medications Permission Slip which can be obtained from
the office.
Term 1 inquiry topicHow do the choices we make influence
our wellbeing?
This week Room 1 ‘tuned in’ to their inquiry.
We are going to be learning about what
makes a group work well together.
We had a sandcastle building competition. It
was a lovely afternoon for it and we learnt
about some of the things that make a group
work well together. Great work Room 1
