Be a Camp Orkila Counselor for Odle MS – Earn Community Service Hours too!
Odle Middle School is looking for camp counselors! We want you to be a camp counselor for our 6th grade
camp in May! Interested in earning 50 service hours & helping kids have fun? Pick up an application in your
Activity office or attend an information meeting on Tuesday February 24th. Lunch provided! See you then!

Math Tutors Available in Extended Tutorial!
Volunteer student math tutors are now available in the library until 4 pm during extended tutorials on
Tuesdays & Thursdays. If you need assistance with algebra 1 or 2, geometry, or pre-calculus, these tutors
are prepared to assist you. Questions? Please see Mrs. Kenney in the library workroom Tuesday through
Thursday.
College Application Help Available!
As college application deadlines loom, don’t forget to take advantage of the College Corps volunteers (yes,
we now have more than one volunteer each day) available in the library every Tuesday and Thursday
afternoon from 2:30 to 4 pm to help you with your applications, your essays, and any other information you
might need. Questions? Please see Mrs. Kenney in the library.
Winter Sports Update
Boys Swim- 3A State Champions - 1st place in the 200 Medley

Gymnastics-Audrey Rose Laura finished 4th on the bars and 5th on the floor
Girls Basketball finished 1st in District and play this Saturday, Feb 28th (6pm @ Bellevue College v. Lincoln)
Boys Basketball finished 2nd in District and play this Saturday, Feb 28th (8pm @ Bellevue College v. Foss)
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY APPLICATIONS
Candidate forms for the 2015-16 school year for the National Honor's Society will be available after
2:35pm this Friday, 6 February 2015. NHS candidates are current sophomores and juniors who
have leadership experience, solid academics and a desire to volunteer in our community. Go to
room 1118 for the form OR stop by the bulletin board in the social studies wing to pick up the candidate
form. Forms are due by Tuesday, 24 February 2015 by 3:05pm to room 1118. Forms turned in after the
deadline will not be considered.
SPRING SPORT REGISTRATION IS HERE – LAST CHANCE
Do you want to try out for Baseball, Soccer? Join Track & Field, Girls Badminton, Water Polo, Tennis,
Softball, Golf or Lacrosse? Please check the website for registration instructions
here: www.bsd405.org/bhs under the Athletics tab or go straight to www.familyid.com. Familyid.com is for
sport & Impact registration ONLY. Badminton starts 3/9 - check the web page for details. Link is at the
bottom of the athletic page. Other sports start March 2nd. For cut sports athletes may not miss the first 3
days. Fees will be paid at https://touchbase.bsd405.org/. Please do not pre pay for Baseball or Soccer.
Wait until your athlete makes the team. All players pay the Spring Pay to Play & Spring transportation and
need a current ASB Card (regardless of school attending). Lacrosse also register at their separate website &
pay only at that website. Girls Water Polo should contact [email protected] .

CHEER TRYOUTS 2015 – 2016 – Now is the time
Are you interested in trying out for Bellevue cheer? For more information Please attend the mandatory
Parent/student meeting on Monday March 2nd at 7:00 in the Library at Bellevue High School. We will go
over the Cheer program packet that is located at www.Bellevuecheer.com and answer any questions.

2. Tryout practices Monday March 30, Tuesday March 31 & Wednesday, April 1st, 4-6 at BHS (please
meet in the Commons area)
3. Tryouts are Thursday April 2nd at 4:00 in the lower gym. You must be present to tryout for the
squad.
4. You must register ahead of time at www.familyid.com (you cannot pay until August, you are just
agreeing to pay).
5. You must have a current physical on file at BHS.

CLASS OF 2015 – Auditions
We are halfway through our senior year and the road to graduation is that much shorter! In preparation for
our big day, we will be holding auditions for Graduation Speakers and Musicians. A location has not been
established yet. Auditions will held from March 30th through April 3rd. If you feel a message inside you that
want to share or a song you want to play that captures the essence of the Class of 2015, practice now!!
These things take time, thought, and effort. Start working on it ASAP so you can blow away the crowd.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: 6th GRADE CAMP COUNSELOR FOR TYEE MIDDLE SCHOOL
Tyee MS is looking for Juniors & Seniors to volunteer at our 6th Grade Outdoor Education Camp!
This year’s camp week is scheduled for April 20-24, 2015 at YMCA’s Camp Orkila on Orcas Island, WA.
All applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for the camp counselor position:
Students can only have one D on the second semester Teacher Grade Report.
Students may not have F’s on their 1st semester grade report or on their 2nd semester Teacher Grade Report
Students must have excellent attendance, such as no patterns of tardies or unexcused absences.
Students must have excellent discipline records from September 2014-April 2015.





Applications available in the Activities Office on FEBRUARY 2, 2015. Due no later than MARCH 12.
Applications screened by administration; applicants will be notified if they do not meet requirements.
Applicants who meet set requirements may be selected for a group interview on March 25.
Applicants who participate in the group interview will be notified on March 26 of selection decision.
Selected counselors must participate in 2 training sessions: April 1st, 2:30-5 & April 20, 8:00-3:15
