About Periyar University: The Periyar University,
names after the social reformer E. V. Ramasamy, is
located about 7 kilometers north of the Salem,
Bangalore National Highway, Tamil Nadu, with
beautiful landscape and serene atmosphere. The
University has been functioning as the pool of
knowledge by executing researchers at national and
international level. The University remains as the
beacon for higher education catering to rural students.
About Periyar Institute of Management Studies:
Periyar Institute of Management Studies(PRIMS)is
one of the upcoming management institutes in the
southern region of the countryPRIMS offers two years
full time MBA programme with a difference (CBCS–
ChoiceBasedCreditSystems) since its inception in
2005. The Institute also offers M.Phil full time and
Ph.D both full and part-time programmes to promote
research activities..
Research Methodology Course: The course aims at
imparting advanced knowledge in Research
Methodology for the young social science faculty. The
various aspects of research like writing research
proposals, preparing research design, data collecting
and analysis and writing research papers. Experts in
the field of Research across India will be training the
faculties
about the compilation, Analysis and
Interpretation of data using latest statistical tools. Two
week capacity building programme will enhance the
expertise of young faculties in the area of Research
Methodology.
 Develop capacity for conceptualizing and
writing research proposal
 Enhance skills to prepare an appropriate
research design, including conducting an
overview of literature, formulating research
questions and hypotheses, collection of
information analysis.
 Enhance capacity for writing a research paper
for publication
 Develop the capacity for planning and writing
a book
 Develop the capacity for grant applications.
Participants Selection and Registration: The
faculty’s who are working in Social Sciences
(Sociology, Commerce, Economics/Future Studies,
Education, Psychology, History, Anthropology,
Political Science, Social Work, Management,
Population Studies/Demographics, Philosophy,
Home Science and Criminology) are eligible to
apply. 30 limited seats available for the course. The
preference will be given to SC, ST, OBC, Minorities
and Women. The Selected faculty’s will be
intimated by both postal and E-mail. No
Registration Fee will be collected from the
participants. The Selected

will be
provided the boarding and lodging for which the
payment will be paid by the Organiser.
