OFF CAMPUS HOUSING INFORMATION

Dear Student,
The Office of Residence Life has compiled the attached list of available off campus housing. This list includes
properties owned and managed by individuals within our surrounding community. To narrow your search, refer to
the Key below to ascertain your preferred “type” code that corresponds to the list’s Type column. We do not
inspect, approve nor recommend any listed space nor are we responsible for the condition of the housing, the safety,
or well being of the student while they reside in any off campus housing. We encourage all students to go to our
ESU website, http://www4.esu.edu/students/residence_life/off_campus_housing.cfm and view the “Guide to Living
Off Campus” and the most current list of “Off Campus Housing” rentals. Among the information you will find a
sample lease and a checklist for your protection. The Off Campus list is a service to our students to make the task of
finding places to live within the community a little easier. If you also have returned an On-Campus Housing
Application to Residence Life and Housing Operations (phone: 570-422-3460), assignments will continue to be
made from the wait list as spaces become available.
The University will not knowingly assist nor support any property owner or agent who engages in unlawful housing
discrimination. Each property owner on the list has agreed to rent without regard to race, color, gender, religion,
ancestry, national origin, sex, familial status, or disability. We are not responsible for any misrepresentations,
omissions, or mistakes made by the individuals or agencies providing information on housing or housing
conditions. It is strongly suggested that the student contact the individual noted on the list for further information
concerning the condition of properties that are for rent.
