The Association is requesting your support in sending one or more representatives from the
Building Inspection, Plan Checking and related staff of your Municipality, City or Regional
District to this year’s Annual Conference & Training of the Building Officials’ Association of
BC, to be held at the River Rock Casino Resort in Richmond, BC.
Our Conference objective is to provide Education, Training and Professional Development for
your staff, so they can provide improved service and assistance to your citizens and clients. The
focus is on topical issues relating to the interpretation and administration of the Building Code
and other relevant building industry matters affecting the effective and efficient operation of
Building Departments.
We are offering over 30 different sessions and presenting more than 45 hours of Education,
Training and Professional Development.
Successful participation in the Conference study sessions and seminars provides Continuing
Professional Development [CPD] credits to members. These credits lead to mandatory
professional maintenance of BOABC Certification in building regulation and code knowledge.
This Certification is the recognized standard of competence for Building Officials in the
Province and throughout Canada.
The Conference has a full program and I am sure that participation will be high. Thank you for
your consideration and support of our initiatives to promote education, training and professional
development.
