Humbled Before God
In A Quiet Place in a Crazy
World (Multnomah), Joni
Eareckson Tada writes about
ap p ro ach ing God w ith
humility, out of “a place of
dust and ashes.” God rewards
an attitude of deep humility by
lifting us up (see James 4:10
and 1 Peter 5:6).
Abraham, for example, boldly
approached God in prayer,
“Though I am nothing but dust
and ashes) (Genesis 18:27,
NIV). “The lower Abraham
humbled himself, the “higher”
he must have felt.” Tada

writes. “I can imagine that
when Abraham spoke to God,
he felt as though he was
carried up on eagle’s wings to
the heights of heaven. It must
have awed him to be allowed,
of all things, access to God
Almighty.”
Such an attitude of humility
helps us appreciate God’s real
presence with us in prayer,
Tada Says, because “we will
know the assurance of talking
to Someone who is really
there.”
Radio broadcast on WLSM at 11:00
a.m. and 6:00 p.m. are now tape delayed
of both previous Sunday services. We
are sorry that at this time we cannot
broadcast on the local TV channel. This
is through no fault of our own and we
are working to fix the situation.

Pastor’s Perspective
Minister of Education, Youth & Children’s Ministry
- Rob Paul -
- Newlie Long –
Easter is coming – April 5th – and I hope you have already
made your plans to be here and to invite someone else to
Get Connected! We will have two morning worship
services – 8:30 and 11:00 – with Sunday School at the
regular time. The worship services will be identical so
make your plans to attend the one that best fits your
schedule and the schedule of those you will invite. It’s
going to be a glorious day!
I’ve had the privilege to listen to a little of our wonderfully
talented choir’s rehearsals on Sunday afternoons as they
prepare to lead us in worship each Sunday. I’m telling you,
Easter is going to be amazing! This coming Sunday, the
choir will enjoy lunch at the church followed by a rehearsal
in preparation for Easter. Please contact the church office to
let them know how many will be attending from your
family and if you need childcare. The church will provide a
variety of Subway sandwiches for lunch.
Speaking of Easter… As you know Easter is the time of
year that we focus on the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering
for North American Missions. Every penny of every dollar
given through Annie Armstrong goes directly to the mission
field to help push back the darkness of a lost world. You
and I have two options to participate. You may give to
AAEO directly, or you may give through the Acts 1:8
offering (Annie Armstrong is included in our Acts 1:8
Offering). Either way you are helping to make Jesus known
throughout North America! Just remember, these are
offerings that should be given over-and-above your support
of our regular ministry budget.
After what we experienced this past Sunday, I can’t wait
until we meet again. God is definitely working in our sweet
fellowship. I hope you are spending time with Him
throughout this week so that when we meet on Sunday
morning, our praise flows from a life that has spent in daily
worship!

Friday Night Live
Our next installment on April
24th will focus on personal
growth in our relationship
with God. Look for the flyers
coming out this week! Gary
Permenter will be the guest
speaker and Square One will
lead us in worship! The cost
is $20 and covers all the food
and NEW t-shirts!
Vacation Bible School
VBS planning is under way!
We are excited about such a
special week of investing in
the children of our community.
Be in prayer now for what role
you can play. Teenagers, we
need your help. Adults that
are available during the day,
you know we need you.
Senior Adults, you are a vital
link!
Can you register
children, count money, put out
snacks, rock a baby, pass out
crafts, smile and encourage a
child! Let’s make this one of
the best ones we have ever had
because of our amazing
volunteer base! If you can
help, please contact Missy
Hudspeth or Kim Killen.

Mission Update
What a great connection in
Statesboro, GA we had. A
team of 20, four families and
some teenagers were able to
help with a block party where
150 showed up, helped with a
normal Sunday worship
service, and then remodeled
two bathrooms as a local
ministry prepares to fit foster
girls with formal dresses as
part of their “Princess Day”.
The surprise blessing for us
was when the local ministry
offered us eight boxes of handsewn sundresses for little girls!
We will be able to carry these
to Cambodia and Haiti and
bless some beautiful little girls
with stunning dresses. As a
father of a 5-year old girl, I
know that nothing puts a smile
on a girl’s face like a new
dress! How amazing to get to
share dresses in the name of
Jesus.
We have a team of five
preparing for our trip to
Cambodia in May and a team
of nine planning to connect
with our Acts 1:8 partner in
Haiti during July. We are also
finalizing details for our
mission oppor tun ity to
Brooklyn, NY with Mosaic
Baptist Church in July. They
have asked us to help with a
block party and outreach there.
Many have already begun to
ask about this trip.
Be in
prayer about how God would
use you in our Acts 1:8
strategy. Get involved in
