Sale of Chometz - Rabbi Rosenberg is available for the sale of chometz after Shacharis and Maariv until Friday morning, April 3rd (Erev Pesach). If you need to make special arrangements, please call the shul or the Rabbi’s Study at (818) 763-6269. The “Power of Attorney Form” is available outside the shul office and online. As in past years, please consider making a donation to Shaarey Zedek in connection with the sale of your chometz. Maos Chittim - Shaarey Zedek is currently engaged in its annual Maos Chittim drive to provide much needed funds to individuals who are financially challenged by the high cost of food and necessities for Pesach. Anyone wishing to participate may drop off a check at the shul office. Checks should be made out to Shaarey Zedek and please note maos chittim in the memo. Shabbos HaGadol Meals This year, Platinum Catering will be catering the Shabbos HaGadol meals on March 27th and 28th. Please make your reservations directly with Platinum. Friday night oneg 9 PM for men and women -”15 Words: The secrets behind the ancient priestly blessing of Birkat Kohanim.” Shabbos morning 11:30 AM - Noon - in the Beis Midrash for women only - ”The Discerning Power of the Jewish Woman.” Shabbos afternoon Women’s Shiur 5:15 PM Beis Midrash - “Returning to Our Roots - From Tzelem Elokim to Ezer Kenegdo.” Also, 6:10 PM for men and women, Dr. Isaac Schechter will be speaking on “Your Brain on Google: How technology impacts our brain, psychology and soul.” Shaarey Zedek Security Council Public Address System With our ongoing concern as to the security of the shul, a Public Address System is currently being installed throughout the entire SZ facility. The PA system will provide the ability to warn the entire Shul simultaneously of an ACTIVE THREAT with clear instructions on how to react during an ongoing crisis. We pray that we will never have to use the Security PA System in the context of an attack, ר‘‘ל. We are in the midst of raising $10,000 to cover the expenses of the Security PA System and Security Plan that the shul will be instituting over the next several months. We have raised a third of what we need to complete this project. We are urgently requesting that each and every member join us in support of this most important cause. Please contact the office for your donations. While some projects may tolerate delay, this essential need must be completed in the most expeditious fashion to ensure maximum safety. Tomchei Shabbos Collection Box Tomchei Shabbos is once again collecting non-perishable, unopened boxes, bags and cans of items you will be clearing out during Pesach cleaning. SZ Jewish Book Club Shaarey Zedek’s Jewish Book Club, open to men and women, will read Baseless Hatred - What it is and What You Can Do About It by René H. Levy, PhD. They will meet after Pesach to discuss. Planning for your Family’s Future Shaarey Zedek has partnered once again with Mount Sinai Memorial in Simi Valley to provide our congregants with comprehensive pre-need arrangements and services.
