As UAE Branch Office General Manager in the New Plants and Major Projects product line, Christopher
Crefeld is accountable for in country oversight of the delivery of the Westinghouse scope of Supply for
Barakah Nuclear Power Plant Units 1, 2, 3 &4 (including the Instrumentation and Control equipment and
the Reactor Coolant Pumps). His specific responsibilities include managing the Westinghouse Electric
Asia - Abu Dhabi Branch office, oversight of the Westinghouse Electric BNPP Site Construction office and
promoting the benefits of Nuclear Power in the UAE and throughout the middle east region.
Prior to this role, Mr. Crefeld served in numerous technical areas throughout the company in his role as a
Westinghouse Fellow Engineer. He began his career with Westinghouse in the Plant Computer Design
group and over the years, he has gained experiences with many different Nuclear Power Plants around
the world including the UAE (BNPP APR1400 Design), Texas USA (STP 3&4 - ABWR Design), South
Korea (SKN 3&4 - APR1400 Design), USA (AP1000 Design), California USA (CE Design), Midwest USA
(SNUPPS Design) and Bulgaria (VVER1000 Design).
Mr. Crefeld is a certified Design For Six Sigma Green Belt and has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical
Engineering (BSEE) from Grove City College, a master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering
(MSEE) from the University of Pittsburgh, and has a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) from the
Katz School of Business at University of Pittsburgh with a certificate in Technology, Innovation and
Entrepreneurship (TIE).
