Award 2015 (5th edition)
OFFICIAL RULES
Article 1: The Contest’s Object
CNA Federmoda, based in Rome (Italy) at via G. A. Guattani 13, 00161 Roma and the
Association ACTE based in Guimarães (Portugal), Vale do Ave - Rua Capitão Alfredo
Guimarães, 1 - 4800 Guimarães are the co-organizers of a contest entitled “European
contest of Young designers” (from now on, ACTE contest) which is dedicated to young
designers graduated from Design School and young entrepreneurs to whom Design is
a major component of their activities.
This contest is one more of those organized by Federmoda and its aim is to add value
to young creators coming from the territories members of ACTE.
Article 2: Contest entry
To take part in the ACTE contest, candidates shall be over 18 years old the day of the
competition.
Likewise, each candidate must have been the winner of one of the competitions which
took place in one of the territories member of ACTE. This competition must have been
directly organized by these territories or by one of their local partners.
Otherwise, the members of ACTE without a competition on their territory as described
above, but wishing to participate to the ACTE contest, have the possibility to select
themselves the candidates.
At last one month before the ACTE contest, so not later than the 24th of June 2015,
each ACTE Vice-Presidency wishing to take part in this competition shall send its
selection to both the Presidency and the Executive Secretariat of ACTE. If these
conditions are not respected, the Presidency and the Executive Secretariat of ACTE
reserve the right to reject the nominated winner.
Each member of ACTE will have the possibility to present one or more candidates to
each category defined for the ACTE contest:
1st Category:
Young creators having been graduated in a Fashion School between the 1st of January
2015 and the date of the ACTE contest, as well as young creators enrolled in a Design
school which is likely to provide them a design graduate before the 31st of December
2014.
ACTE will deliver a prize which amount is €3,000.
2nd Category:
Young entrepreneurs with an independent creator statute and who have been
practicing for less than 5 years on the date of the ACTE contest.
ACTE will deliver a prize which amount is €8,000.
Each participant will be contacted to take part in the ACTE contest by a representative
of the Vice-Presidency of ACTE in his territory (from now on, ACTE National VicePresidency), or by one of its local partners to whom will be delegated the mentoring of
the selected candidates.
No applications will be accepted without the ACTE National Vice-Presidency stamp. To
compete, the candidate will have to make up a registration form and to submit it to the
ACTE Executive Secretariat via the ACTE National Vice-Presidency or the local partner
assigned. This form should be composed of:

Europass CV
Passport picture
Some high quality pictures of their creations
Copy of the student card or diploma for the participants to the 1st category
Copy of the business statutes as Independent Designer for the
participants of the 2nd category.
Likewise, on the day of the ACTE contest each participant will be asked to present:
1st Category:
3 pieces (or silhouettes) of designer creation (possibility of mixing men/
women clothes, accessory or shoes). As appropriate, one of these pieces
must have been in a winner position of the national or regional contest the
participant won.
2nd Category:
5 pieces (or silhouettes) of designer creation (possibility of mixing men/ women
clothes, accessory or shoes). As appropriate, one of these pieces must have been
in a winner position of the national or regional contest the participant won. One of
the others needs to be made especially for the contest following the issue given by
the co-organizers for the year 2015: “CREATIVE FANTASY”.
The pieces will have to be made or adjusted according to the following sizes: Italian 42
for women, Italian 48/50 for men. Regarding shoes, the sizes should be: Italian 39 for
women, Italian 43 for men.
Article 3: Application submission
The members of ACTE interested in the ACTE contest are asked to inform the
Presidency of the network and/or the Executive Secretariat via their national VicePresidency before the 24th of April 2015.
The participants who did not win the previous edition of the ACTE contest (4TH Edition)
will have the possibility to present their creations during the 2015 competition.
Article 4: Choice of winners and prizes of the contest
The winners of each category will be chosen amongst the participants by a jury. This
jury is composed of members selected by the co-organizers of the contest, CNA
Federmoda and ACTE, according to their qualities in entrepreneurship and in design as
well as for their knowledge of production and their commitment with Fashion Industry.
After reading candidates’ applications, the jury will share a moment with each applicant
on July the 24th during the morning in Riccione, Italy. The candidates will present their
models and they will discuss about them with the jury.
The jury will judge all the creations presented by the candidates according to the
following criteria:
- Creativity
- Commercial viability
- Product processing
- Link with the thematic (see article 2)
The jury will make a final and non appeal decision on the evening of July the 24th 2015.
This decision will nominate a winner by category who will receive a prize. The value of
this prize is fixed by the contribution of the members of ACTE which participate in the
contest, up to €300 per presented candidate, equally divided between both categories
(1 and 2).
The final fashion show of the ACTE contest will take place in Riccione (Italy) on the 24th
of July 2015, within the framework of the 2015 Italian Fashion Week in Riccione.
The nomination will be publicly communicated and the prize will be given to the winner
during the final fashion show on the 24th of July 2015 in the evening.
Article 5: Sponsoring
Every ACTE Member (or its partner) taking part in the ACTE contest is asked to seek
sponsors in order to cover their organization expenses, especially those related with
their participation as described in Article 6 of the hereby rules.
Sponsors should have the approval of the ACTE contest co-organizers.
The 20% of the proceeds of each Member (or its partner) will be paid to ACTE in order
to cover general expenses (see Article 6).
None of the sponsors will have exclusive rights. In case of such request, the
sponsorship should cover the costs of the ACTE 5th edition contest (see Article 6).
Article 6: Contest budget
Each participating Member of ACTE (or partner) should cover their own expenses in
relation to the candidates’ participation in the ACTE contest in Riccione (travel,
accommodation, meals), either directly or through sponsors’ support (see Article 5).
Each Member of ACTE (or partner) should also promote the event in the local media.
Co-organizers will write a press release to do so.
CNA Federmoda, as a Member of ACTE and host of the fifth edition of the ACTE
Young Designers Contest, will provide the technical structure for the contest: catwalk,
audio, video, lights. CNA Federmoda will also be responsible for the direction of the
fashion show and the models.
The candidates will write an undertaking which guarantees their presence to the
contest before the 1st of June 2015 (presence is recommended from July the 23rd on).
ACTE will provide them a €300 fixed grant (by bank transfer) in order to pay for:

Travel costs (with low cost companies)
Accommodation (2 nights)
The only meal that will be take in charge by ACTE will be the one on Friday, July the
24th 2015.
Communication:
The event will be covered by the local and national specialized press.
Responsibility
ACTE and CNA Federmoda are the only responsible for the ACTE contest
organization. As co-organizers, they do not assume any responsibility regarding any
possible event indirectly related with this contest.
