The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) National Capital Area and Bull Run Golf Course are
proud to host the 5th Annual AFSP National Capital Area Golf Tournament on Wednesday, May 20, 2015
from 9 am – 4 pm. This year we are taking this event to a new level and we would be honored if you will
consider being one of our top sponsors.
Multiple sponsorships levels are available and I have included a form that explains the various levels of support
and value amounts for each.
AFSP is the nation’s leading nonprofit organization bringing together people nationwide to understand and
prevent suicide and to help heal the pain it causes. Locally, in the DC Metro Area, we work with individuals,
families, and communities around us who have been personally touched by suicide. They are the moving force
behind everything we do.
Tragically, suicide is currently the third leading cause of death among young people ages 15
to 24. The highest overall rates of suicide are for adults ages 40 to 59.
This is why we need your support to make this event as special and successful as we
can! Your sponsorship will contribute tremendously to our local DC Metro Suicide Prevention
efforts and you will be acknowledged depending on your level of sponsorship, with visibility
and promotion of your company on event banners, using your company name and logo on
our web pages and in other promotional/marketing materials on the golf course and in
the community used to promote our event.
We are anticipating a full field of participants again this year. This provides you
a unique opportunity to extend your overall business reach and visibility and
to support our cause. We hope to receive most sponsorship applications
by Monday, April 27, 2015 in order to provide maximum visibility for
corporate sponsors. However, the final sponsorship deadline will
be Wednesday, May 13, 2015 but with limited advertising
exposure.

The American Foundation for Suicide
Prevention (AFSP), a 501(c)(3) organization,
has been working to prevent suicide since
1987. Our National Capital Area Chapter
(NCAC) was established in July 2010 to raise
awareness, provide education, offer survivor
support services, and prevent suicide within
the greater Washington D.C. area. AFSP
is funding groundbreaking research and
educational programs and is championing
important public policies that will help
prevent suicide. Half of the funds raised
from this tournament will support National
level initiatives, and 50% will remain in our
community for local NCAC programs.
Every 15 minutes one person in the United
States loses their life to suicide. During the
time it takes to complete our tournament, 20
people will lose their lives. AFSP and the
NCAC are working to shine a bright light on
this national problem and your support for
this golf tournament will help us!
