NE COMMUNITY For Sustainability 18 - 25 January 2016 December Issue ATF Delegates All Set For 2016 Edition In Manila, Philippines The 35th instalment of the ASEAN Travel Forum (ATF) is set to showcase products and services from over 40 destinations across the 10 ASEAN countries, with a representation of more than 450 exhibition booths on the show floor. Host Philippines is showcasing 13 regions from across the country. Manila’s Entertainment City will be home to key ATF activities including the three-day TRAVEX travel trade mart from 20 to 22 January 2016, held at the SMX Convention Centre Manila. “ATF has been a key trade event for the Philippines that has proven to produce good results for our travel suppliers over the years. This showing at ATF 2016 will be one of Philippines’ best with over 150 exhibiting booths from across the country. Participation at ATF 2016 also includes a strong showing of corporate hotel chains such as CHM Hotels, FRHI Hotels & Resorts, Furama Hotels International, HPL Hotels & Resorts, Park Hotel Group, Premier Inn Hotel, Sol Melia, InterContinental Hotels Group, Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels & Resorts, Best Western International, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Movenpick Hotels & Resorts, AccorHotels, Pan Pacific Hotels Group and Wyndham Hotel Group”, said Susan del Mundo, Chairperson of ATF 2016 TRAVEX Sub-Committee. The appeal of ASEAN destinations has drawn the interest of global buyers from across 65 countries, with the participation of top markets such as Australia, France, Germany, India, Italy, Malaysia, Poland, Russia, Singapore, United Kingdom and United SMX Convention Centre Manila States of America. Confirmed hosted buyer Chow Keng Fong, General Manager of Poloair Holidays Shanghai, China PR who organised an incentive trip for 65 people in January to Bangkok and Chiang Mai, says that Thailand is one of the ASEAN countries that is popular among Chinese travellers in terms of its attractions, shopping and culinary experiences. “With demand at hand, ATF is ever more so an important travel industry event and I find it very relevant to our business expansion plan,” remarked Chow.
